I hear ya, just poking fun since I know they are staunch "standard" hardware users. My one wish for their cars is that they'd be metric, hardware and all.

Hi Tim,

We should have the 3mm bulkheads available in a couple of weeks. This 1st batch was all 8-32. 95% of the Rev.8's sold were the 8-32 front hole pattern.

Hope everyone is doing well. Snowing here again! Crazy.

Have a great day.-Bruce

I know what you mean and I've built up a good stock of imperial hardware over the years. But I'd give it all up for metric.

Can't wait to get this though and the side links

I have virtually no imperial hardware. I had to buy new drivers for this car :roll eyes:
A fellow racer has given me a few of his old imperial spares, from his old Associated cars but I'm still a bit short on screws.

My order is in for the new front end.

Bruce- sent you a question about an adjustable rear pod...

Pics of the New Skool front end and side links on my car. Also, pics of the Low CG rear pods. We removed the top of the motor mount side and mount the motor with 2 bottom screws. Not a lot of weight, but a little here and a little there, it adds up.

With two screws at the bottom of the motor mount, how wide is the available range of positions?
ie. max pinion size with a 78tooth spur and minimum pinion with whatever spur they tend to use in open mod?

You won't have to worry about the minimum pinion size. The motor will be far too close to the axle for your comfort before you run out of space on the motor plate.

Re: max pinion size, with a 72t spur, I was able to fit a 58t pinion or so without clearancing the center pivot. After taking an exacto-knife to the plastic surrounding the ball in the center pivot, I have been able to fit a 62t pinion. I suspect you could get a 63t in there, also.

So, with a 78t spur, figure max pinion size is around a 57t or so.

Japanese distributor? Where can I buy one in Japan? Or will it have to be direct?

Hey guys, I'm interested in getting Rev8 but I have a question. I may be missing the boat here but can camber be adjusted on the 'old school' front end?

I see the new school can.

Not by just turning a wrench, no. Little strips of thick paper, or scotch tape, either inboard or outboard of the 8-32 screws, sandwiched between the deck and molded arms, is how you can adjust the camber.

I think some guys may have some old-time Associated shims that had both caster and camber molded in.

I just used tape. You can layer it up a strip at a time until you get it where you want it. That was using the machined arms, which are supposed to have 2* camber/6* caster milled in (someone else should confirm those figures.)

I believe the Machined Old Skool arms have -1 camber, 6 caster by default
For most conditions, no adjustment is necessary, however, "Putaway" is spot on, using thin strips of tape will do the trick if the need arises

For club racing I leave it as is, at a super grip track like IIC, or Snowbirds, less camber can calm the front end down
