As I need a replacement suspension arm, I've been on the SM site to order a couple of pairs.
I'm sure there used to be two versions, one normal and one machined. I don't see the machined ones now. Am I going blind or do I have it wrong?

Just checked, and didn't see them either. Shoot Bruce an email, he should be able to sort it out for you

i think that according to the website fine print; something won't show if it is out of stock. however, the converse is not necessarily true. (if something isn't shown, it may still be in stock, and worth asking)

I don't see much mention of front end droop with the old school front end. with fresh springs it seems pretty tight, if anything there is a little preload.

is it typically ignored, and fresh springs installed when some droop appears?

Using SM springs with 1 e-clip should be correct
No droop, no pre-load setting

Front arms should be available again in a few weeks. After the Snowbirds.

I better not crash too heavily for a while...

Well friday was a big improvement after Paul fettled the car for me.
Re-adjusted the center pivot and side links. The noticed the center shock damping was a bit soft. Took the shock apart to find the e-clips and piston were no longer attached to the main shaft.
No wonder the car wasn't predictable...

Didn't finish the night with the Rev8 though as an unnamed car was parked across the racing line as I came into a corner and after I collided with it, a few more cars behind collected my car. One Rev8 survived intact, mine didn't. The front axle snapped, but this was not the kit item, it was in an alloy knuckle I'd received from a fellow SM driver so may have taken a few knocks already.

Looking forward to a re-fettled rev8 next week, with one fewer obstacles on the track...
