oh no :(
Love him or hate him, he was a real legend for us. Loud, obnoxious and opiniated.. i really liked him .. |
This guy's knowledge seemed limitless. He'd forgotten more than I'll ever know!
A funny guy on the message boards, too. His stuff was always a good read. He'll be missed. My thoughts are with his family and friends today.... |
wow this is a shocker :(

I'm totally speechless. From the moment I got into this hobby, I was consumed by his knowledge of the electric motor. His "Black Book" is always close by for reference. Someone truely consumed with passion for the hobby.
God bless you Big Jim.... |

I'm very saddened by the news. This is a big loss to the rc industry. I learned so much about motors from his forum. Thank you Big Jim. Rest In Peace.
I remember those wicked fast Checkpoint motors of the late 80s and early 90s that Big Jim created. I'm glad the name lives on, even though it's under O'Donnell now. |
