Second night out with the car and I'm impressed. Ball cups are a little tight still, I think I might switch them out. I haven't wrapped the drive shafts with heat shrink yet, it probably wouldn't hurt to do so.

I wrote that article. I never wound up wrapping my DCJs with heatshrink and the car has been fine.

On a related note, a few locals have reported breaking DCJs on hits with extreme angles. I haven't had this issue, but the going theory is that the steering angle is too extreme even for DCJs. This can probably be helped by reducing the dual rate a bit to take out a little steering throw.

If the ball cups are really tight, you can squeeze them lightly with a pair of pliers as Olly Jefferies noted here for his TC6 build tips guide: http://www.petitrc.com/reglages/asso...TC6_BuildTips/

Just got my hands on one from Demon Products in the UK @ 270

Will start off the build later. Am I correct in saying in order to get 4 degree kick-up that it is done via caster on the front block rather than different C-Hubs?

If so how many shims need to be under the front block?

Thanks.

Nice! -I have your site bookmarked as I've been referring to that page for my build. I also am loving your discussion of fans and batteries. Great stuff. Please add more to the H4 build tips!! -or maybe set up sheets?

As for wrapping my joints w/ heat shrink tubing, I think I will pass. If the retainer clips aren't popping off then I don't see the point in adding something that will be an extra step to remove and put back when I rebuild/check/clean the joints. By the way, the clips are a bit of a PITA to get back on. I can get them on, but they take about 5mins of struggling w/ and some chipped up fingernails to get them back in place.

Is there a quick trick to get the clips on? Are you guys using a special tool or something?

I am using a grease that is advertised as being good for "metal to metal" contact ...it's from MuchMore Racing. The tiny jar only says "grease" on it and the MM logo.
