Ive decided to just do it! Gonna swap out to Carbon v2 Samix Chassis for the next race! I also have a 419 diff to try for the rear!
I dont like the idea for top deck.. With the stock 418 chassis i feel even with 2 screws out it made no difference.. also it didn't gain steering at the same time.

Gordie, how is it going with Samix and 419 Diff?

I've been testing the TRF419 gear diff for 2 practice days and the geardiff works great.
Allthough i've used a thicker geardiff oil and being faster with thinner geardiff oil the geardiff is great, so far i have no leaks.
My TRF418 is still being the fastest car on the track of our club, beating a BD7 2014 version with 0.2s on the fastest lap
I run my car with the standard chassis, i did mount a one-way at front, this gives me lot's of steering and plenty grip at the rear.

Samix Chassis Carbon... Much more flex compared to Stock...
Since i am using the 418 for 17.5 I thought the stiff chassis would still have the edge over the Samix..
Well last weekend the car woke up even more then before! The samix chassis gained steering and rear end traction... Overall I believe it is much better.. I never changed setup all day, just had to get use to the bit more aggressive front end!!
The 419 DIFF... man is it ever smoooooth!!
Ive tried shimming and green slim... the bugger will not stop leaking!!

The spur below allows you to run 17.5 & 13.5....no mods needed, no need to change spurs until they strip.

I've been testing with 17.5T blinky at my club (i guess your track has equal dimensions like our track) and i was running an FDR of 4.91 and the car was super fast on the straight and on the infield.
Only guys running a 10.5T blinky were faster on the straight but on the infield i was able to keep up with them.
Been running a speedpassion cirtix club stock ESC with a 17.5T V3 MMM with 20° of motor timing.
I could be wrong though.

Is that FDR not to low for this kind of track?

Just fitted the Samix V2 carbon and a 419 diff (Copy of Gordie) and will test the car later this week. The flex of the Samix chassis is crazy compared to the standard 418 chassis.
Gordie, how many of the top deck screws did you use on the Samix?

I run with all top deck screws. The added flex MADE THE CAR COME ALIVE FRONT AND REAR!!
I will most likely take away some rear traction this weekend aswell....
and also play with shims to get the front end to not be so aggressive but keep the amount of steering i have...
Tried the new Dart and it is a bit better for me but i still think 17.5 T LTC is where it is....
