That actually looks closer to kit set up in a lot of ways than what they were doing 6 months ago! Suspension blocks are bog standard for example.

I do wonder if, say, 2mm under the inside front camber link connection is 2mm or 3mm total (taking into account the fixed 1mm on the new hex balls). Someone should change the setup sheet to capture this!

Biggest deviation away from kit seems to be in steering links/arm connections though? And the droop setting is an obvious change of thinking!

When I look at 418 setup sheets I am assuming that they are using the +1mm 418 ball studs unless specified otherwise. As far as droop settings go they look normal to me--my guess is that Jiles was measuring from the center of the outer hinge pin--in which case 9mm is about equal to 6mm measured the "standard"
way--under the arms using droop blocks.

I wanted to try the Setup tomorrow without the droop-blocks? Is this right?

Good pick up. It would be a change in method for him to measure that way though based in previous sheets and his posts in his thread.

I think I agree with you though!

I have been running the hard Raceberry chassis on my 418 outdoors. I would like to try the soft one just to compare. I am always looking for rear bite. I have never tried the stock 418 to compare to.

The TRF guys did try them at some stage but I don't think they did after TITC. Something better came along...

The droop of 9.5 and 8 is a joke.

You need short shocks and springs to adjust this. Probably the TRF guys had the BigBore Shock from the new EVO or other Shocks

With the standard set, the setup can not be implemented.

That's because it's measured from the middle of the hingepin.

How is it a joke? That's how it's measured on the setup sheet. That's how we measure droop on Yokomo's, from the center of the outer hinge pin. Not from under the arms. If it was measure that why, it would be about 6 and 4.5 droop or close to it.

Well, I hope so, I spent this afternoon getting the car ready for the next meet doing just this. If not I guess all my inner camber links are too high and my steering linkages are too far forward

"The tapered face of the piston provides different damper characteristics to regular flat-faced pistons, increasing your setup options."

Different how? does anyone know?

Those trying the TRF set ups, are you using the HPI silver medium springs?
