Anyone having issues with breaking front blades on the 418 with the spool? Anyone have a good solution for this issue?

It seems both the Tamiya and Roche blades do not hold up well to braking and thus cause them to break on the backside.

Anyone have a good solution?

I just boil my blades. They last quite a long time but a big hit will soon make them fail. I treat them as a consumable so have no problem replacing them every month or so when they look like they are fading.

You can just fit the older spool cups or get the steel ones that require no blades (like on the 417v5) the spool is the same as the 417 in fitting so any 417/418 steel spool outdrives should fit.

And/or try some ARC blades... But they are a real tight fit. You need pliers to push them on over the pins.

I don't bother with blades when using a spool. I use the Smokem spool cups and they last forever in mod. Since they don't need blades, I don't have to worry about blades breaking mid-run either.

Anybody running a 418 with the soft Raceberry chassis??? Did any TRF driver run this chassis on the 418???

I heard they were all running pretty much std cars, although looking at the setup it seems they are starting to understand how to get more out of the car as there are some interesting little changes to Jilles Set-up
