Not a picture of the car though, just a 417.

"Newly-designed stabilizers are now attached using ball connectors"

That sounds interesting. I wonder if that's talking about endlinks or the connection at the bulkhead?

+1 it's gonna be a long month of waiting until the hobby show

Tamiya usually release CAD images before the show, so hopefully we'll see them soon

It's a nice Tamokomo, not surprising considering what the team have been running this season. A few long-standing parts have been streamlined, but it would have been nice to see a real "wow" innovation on it as well.

love it!

Too bad I've already been running this car for the past 6 months, its just anodized a darker blue........"Yokomo blue" to be specific.

Seriously though, the secret is in the arms and shock towers/springs. These are all new so hopefully it shows some improvement over the Yokomo geometry. There's always room for refinement and these parts historically change at a glacial rate probably due to the high tooling costs for injection molding.

I was thinking there would be a lot more changes. I guess since they are subtle changes to geometry they do not seem as apparent as companies that are doing a complete redesign. Either way I am stoked and can't wait for it to come out!

I'm not trying to start a fight but it should be noted that for Tamiya, making a new molded plastic part is not a big deal. They make like a zillion totally new plastic bits evey year and sell those same parts over and over for a century. Nothing they make is ever obsolete. They make molds in their sleep man and have no difficulty with their ROI.

Definitely some Yokomo inspiration going on there. Which makes perfect sense all things considered.

I'm not looking for any strange changes or innovation. Just a car that's as good or better on carpet than the current bunch (more like a 416) and has a gear diff as good as XRay's. Fingers crossed. The CAD images are looking good.
