Finally the speed passion has proper adjustable end bell timing and not like the old one where you had to change the sensor board to get the 30-40 degrees timing you wanted.

Me too those are the short list. Trying to justify the extra thirty bucks on a R1Wurks vs a D4.

If the Trinity D3.5 21.5T motor is not an option (i.e. no longer on ROAR list) the next best motor (I.M.O.) is the Actinium 21.5T from Team Powers. I have been very impressed by this motor ever since the 2014 IIC.

Where did you get that information? Tekin is only one of many brushless motors that have adjustable timing. Of the motors mentioned here so far on the Speed Passion need to replace the chip to change the timing, but it seems that they have now gone to an adjustable end bell timing like most other motors.

For ROAR legal motors the Team Powers motors are at the top of my list. I have two store bought TPS motors and they look the best on my motorliser and Facts Machine2 compared to other 21.5 motors I've tested and they run great too. However, if you are talking only ROAR legal motors, there really isn't a clear winner. Last year in USGT we had 10 cars in the main with more the 6 different motors and all cars were within a second a lap (big track). All the major motors are very competitive when timed and geared properly. There are just big differences in those two parameters for various motors.

Hmmm... tasty...and they're $20 cheaper than a D4. What are the torque, rpm, amp draw, cooling characteristics? I see its only 1800kv so not a high rpm ripper.

wwddww34, the D3.5 21.5 (TEP 1083) is still on the ROAR approved list. 17.5 and 13.5 are no longer allowed, but the 21.5 and mod turns are still on the list.

D4, R1, ORCA TX, D3.5, Team Scream, Actinium...any of those would be a good choice for a ROAR legal 21.5 motor.

Team Power V2<-----(Japan Edition) is a screamer!
Everyone and their best friend races a V2 in 1/12th Stock 21.5/7.4Lipo
I've tried them all Tekin, MMM, R1, D3, Orca, and Team Powers V2 always came out on top.

The Team Powers Plutonium V2 is definitely fast, but not ROAR legal.

I was just going to ask that question because in Japan they allow larger rotors (13mm) than the ROAR spec (12.5mm).

The new Short Stack D4 21.5 motors are very very good too! They hit the streets a couple weeks ago and should start showing up at local shops very soon. Some OEM's already have them (I am one among others).

Take a look at the Team Scream also. It runs very well in both USGT and F1 at our local indoor track. It is slightly RPM based and has a great selection of rotors. It can also be ordered built to your application (RPM or Torque).

Is the 21.5 killshot with rpm stator and torque rotor a thing of the past now?

I am sure this motor will be great, but the question is; ROAR legal?

Passed all ROAR specs and availability requirements. Just has to be moved to the approved list. I just went and checked this with ROAR.
