There are many different on road classes. It would probably be best to find out what classes are being run by your local club.
Most classes will be defined by the type of chassis and motor size.
Off the top of my head....
-Touring Car (TC) Stock 17.5T, Super Stock 17.5T boosted, Super Stock 13.5 non-boosted, 10.5T, Modified
-Vintage Trans Am (VTA)
-Legends
-1/12 Scale, 17.5T Stock, 13.5T Super Stock, Modified
-Scale Spec 21.5T
-Formula 1
-World GT
-1/10 Nitro Sedan
-1/8 Nitro Sedan
-1/8 Pan Car
-1/4 Gas Nascar

Depends what you want to do with the kit, you mention drifting which I know nothing about but if racing is what your interested in there are better choices. For club type entry level racing look at a TA05V2, TA06, TC6.1, these are all more adjustable than the models you mentioned and can be competitive. You could also look at some of the Sakura models since they offer a lot of performance for the price.
