Thats amazing. My T4 is well over 100+ grams heavier than you.

Running the HW V3.1 ESC, BLS551 servo, Killshot motor, and 6900 Revtech batteries. Granted I am using a standard MS6 body with a fairly fancy paintjob... and I added about 22 grams extra to balance out the car further.

I have a lightweight LTC body that I'm going to paint single color. Not sure if I'll notice a difference.

I do pretty haphazard paint jobs, myself. Two coats of a random color and usually don't even bother backing it up with a color to seal it in, lol. With a nicer paint job, I'm sure it'd be heavier.

I couldn't believe it. When I weighed my car, it was 2.82lbs, in race ready trim. That's significantly less than I thought it would be.

In my experience running 17.5 TC with a standard battery vs a shorty configuration. The shorty setup cornered better but was at a disadvantage. The first 3.5-4 minutes the shorty had similar punch and speed but from then on there was a dropoff in the shorty vs a standard battery. Both cars met weight limit and both batteries were the same C rating just different mAh due to size differential. Same brand as well.

I guess if you own a Car that can't run at the weight limit with a heavier pack, than a lighter pack is the way to go.

I just painted a nicer body that has a few more layers of paint on it. Also forgot to put the transponder on so that's another couple of grams there...

I'll try and weight it again tomorrow at the tracks.

Here is my experience. I am driving a really old TC from 2001, A kawada Sv-10 II. It has these duralumin bulkheads which are quite high, hence heavy. with 6500mah packs (320g), my car weighs about 1500g. With 4200mah shorties it weighs at 1373g . Both weights are quoted with standard protoform mazda speed 6 body with a simple paintjob (110g).
In my country, most racing rules now specify a 1350g minimum weight.
I find that with a high capacity pack, my car takes longer to accelerate , eats tyres quickly and is a little hard to change directions, and also generates more load hence heat. With the shorties I get faster acceleration, quicker response , and lower motor heat. However I get a little shorter runtime, and I do find some voltage drop off. If i used a newer car i could use a high capacity heavyweight pack and still be close to the weight limit. But since I love my old car so much,I am better off with shorties..besides, I am still not getting last place with my old car, shorties and all.

One benefit of the modern larger packs?, increased practice times, it does not sound like a lot, but an ability to go out and back in for changes quite a few times, without changing packs, not a bad thing.

Also the way I have seen some packs loose mah over time, you start with something rated at 6800mah, end up with something that feels like a 5000mah pack, probably not true of all brands, but your left wondering what your paying for.

This is simple....

Depends on the track size.

Larger tracks - Capacity
Smaller tracks - Weight.

I'll choose capacity in stock classes 100% of the time for on road. In mod it doesn't matter much to me. In off road stock classes I'll choose weight mod is usually weight as well.

As much capacity while achieving the min weight for your class.

Oops, false alarm folks. My car weighed in at 1360 in race ready trim, not 1295.
