suspension 101
I noticed that on these forums theres a lot of people who like myself know the terms but not the effects that changes to suspension settings will likely have.
eg raising and lowering roll centres, what will it do?
or spring weights
Maybe some expert could help out??
Cheers

Interesting that you should ask this. After 1 minute at Google I had
http://download.teamassociated.com/p...HandbookV2.pdf and http://www.xxxmain.com/bookz.shtml .Xray include pretty good book with their cars. Team Orion propably has the best guide at http://www.teamorion.com/faq/car-handling.asp . While you're there check out Oscar Jansens motor tuning guide. also look at http://rctech.net/forum/showthread.php?t=40753

Setinns basically got you covered but you could have a look at this site.
http://www.actionrc.com.au/Section_1.htm
It goes through everything about TC's even shocks and springs.

I highly suggest the XXX Main book for basic help in pointing you in the right direction to solve a problem, but understanding how everything works together will take some time.
Its all about mechanical grip. BTW, just in case you didn't know "mechanical grip" means grip that is derived from the rolling chassis dynamics (weight transfer which is set using things such as weight distribution, spring rate, dampening, camber, caster, etc.), as opposed to grip gained from the tires or aerodynamics.
The Hudy setup book is a good read:

I gained a better understanding reading these two books as well:
1. Engineer to win by Carroll Smith (formula one ideas) - You won't use half the book as it deals with real car parts we don't have in TC (brakes, etc.) & materials, but the second half is great for setup.
2. Chassis Engineering by Herb Adams (NASCAR/TRANSAM ideas) - The entire book is great, including a section on how to design a base setup from scratch and how to design your own chassis.
