Here is a quick update on the 21.5t V10 motor from some testing over the weekend.
Ran 2 V10s at the Riverstone indoor track Sydney, Australia.
Track temps approx 20c
Both cars had no fans on the motor, rubber tyres and running blinky.
Both motors had factory timing, 30 deg.
Motor 1 had a fdr of 3.5, with max temps of about 58c.
Motor 2 had a fdr of 3.8, with temps of about 48c.

Initial feeling is these will perform quite well, given more timing and a fan on the motor.

Yesterday, I turned up the timing and it has some real get up and go.
I'll wait until I get some fans before trying to push it or run a club race, but it left me with a nice smile

Had some spare time and read the motor manual... It mentions this motor has a fdr range if 3.0 to 3.5
Driving on a cool day, 20 deg c, on a outdoor ashphelt track using rubber tyres on a touring car with the 21.5 turn motor zero(30) end bell timing with 2 motor fans running blinky.
One car had a fdr of 3.4 and the other was set to 3.2.
Temps were around 45 deg c, +/- 5 deg.
The car with the fdr of 3.2 felt really good with plenty of go, as expected it had more top end speed with still plenty of low end grunt.

Next year I'll push it a bit more when some new pinions turn up.

Just installed a 4.5T on my TC and its no where as fast as the LRP X20. Same ESC settings on my hobbywing V3.1 just swapped motors and LRP has so much more punch and top speed. My esc settings for the LRP motor is 20 boost and 20 turbo timing.
For the V10 motor in order to achieve the same speed as the LRP I had to increase boost to 30 and turbo timing to 30. Even after adjusting the ESC the punch was still weak compared to the LRP.

The LRP motors have a lot of timing built into the end bell. Crank up the timing on the V10 and you should see increase in power output.

It is quite normal to need different boost and turbo settings to achieve similar top speed results. For example, REEDY motors need a lot of boost and timing to run fast. The old XERUN blue can motors with fixed timing had to be run at 18-20 deg of boost and 15-18 (MAX) degree of turbo or it would melt the wires off of the battery teminals from the high current draw. The XERUN was still much faster than the Reedy motors even with the less aggressive speedo settings.
