Yokomo BD "Bearing Buster"

I know I should be posting in the Yokomo BD forum but, I'm desperate. I just took my car apart after running 3 packs on a groomed asphalt track. 5 out of 8 wheel hub bearings are frozen stiff. I'm not abusing the car at all and it is brand new. Is there something that I could possibly be doing to add to the problem and can it be solved?

Thanks,
Richh

You tightened the wheels too tight....Thats why.
If you just tighten them enough you won't have this problem.
In fact I know so...I bet five to one you either tighten them too much or you shimmed you axels too much.
That is all I can think of. I have only had one bearing go out in any of my TC and that was a year ago in my TC3 and I over tightened the wheels.

Yeah, are you using RaySpeed MIP CVD's? If so, did you grind down the flange on the wheel hexes? Did you degrease all of the bearings but put no/or very little oil back in them? Shim too tight? Does the drivetrain spin free without a motor hooked up? Check the Yokomo BD forum...

After further inspection, there is a slight amount of wear on the inside of the hex-nuts, where they touch the bearings. I guess they could be causing a binding which would wreck the bearings. In reality, I can't say I've ever cranked down on the wheel nuts causing a binding. My drive train feels just as free with the wheels on, than it does with the wheels off. This is very odd! Like you guys, I havn't gone through a bearing since I had my TC3 two years ago!!!
