If you guys could get the space next door again you could definitely do this.

Some reasons for hosting the 2014 Nats at 5280:

1. awesome track
2. best lighting anywhere (great for geezers)
3. cool crew that knows how to run a race
4. entertainment by Ficco

I've said my piece

Thanks guys, we definitely appreciate the kind words, a lot of guys have worked really hard to make this track happen.

Because we're a club, the financial success of MHIC is important to our longevity. If we were to host a nationals, a race that typically isn't financially successful for the host, we'd probably have to cancel MHIC and lose out on the event that helps keep us going.

I think all of us love the idea of hosting a Nationals. It's certainly high on my list.

There is actually room on the back lot for temporary covered pits
Seeing as it never snows in Chino Hills I think it's doable ....

What about NorCal, I heard they're putting in a carpet track?

A few other possibilities?

Ive talked to Dirla (Thunder RC) about bidding. He is on the fence right now. We have almost all the lights replaced and enough pits for about 75 people right now but will be expanding that in the fall to go over 100 people (These are 4 people on 4x8 tables plus some places for other tables to be setup. This is if we dont put pits on the off road track as well. The place will be getting a paint job as well in the carpet room. A new heating system is also possibly in the works but a lot of times here in March it may not be needed anyway.

His biggest concern is where we would put the tech crew at for the event. Im working on him so we will see if he wants to do this or not. The track is great. Just got to work on the facility itself some to bring it to a level for a National event.

Omaha's bid is done. Going in once I get the sanction form signed.

I'm hoping Lincoln puts in for the paved nats. I'd actually get a car and race for that one if they'd get it.
