How does the new one compares to 001? Both in terms of assembly and track performance? If someone could compare it also to Xray X1, that would be also interesting. For the assembly I would like to know also parts compatibility. Would new pitch damper fit older chasis? How does the rear axle / differential compares to previous one?

Look closely under the motor. It seems that there is a metal plate screwed to the rear wing attach.

Could anybody tell if rear axles are same between 001 and new 10? Is whole differential swappable / similar? As 001 parts will become obsolete, I would like to know if I can use new model parts to work with older items (like using new axle with older differential).

The YRF looks to use a typical F1 rear axle, perhaps like Xray or Tamiya ?

Default Which body for YR-10

Any recommendations on which body shell fits the YR-10? I'm concerned about the transverse mount shorty being in the way of shells designed for in-line kits.

The Protoform F1-2015 fits the YR-10F fine with transverse battery.

Few things ive noticed during the build:
  • The countersunk holes on the chassis isn't perfect on this kit, the heads of most screws are sticking out on the bottom of the chassis instead of being flush or slightly deeper. Especially the rear pod, it rocks on a flat surface!!
  • Screw hole tolerances are too tight on some carbon pieces, they actually thread into the carbon.
  • The optional aluminum rear axle has tolerances that are way too tight, it doesn't allow any float in the bearings. The steel axle in the kit however is fine.
  • When the front arms are set to narrow track (by flipping the plastic inserts), the steering wiper rubs with the lower left arm. This would require at least 2mm of spacing on the wiper to clear it.

The rest is usual fit and finish you'd expect from Yokomo.
