This makes me want to got back to modified racing
This will definitely be a 7 turn brushed equivalent.

Lol... Been waiting for this one ever since i got my 5five. Niiiiiiiiiice.

Incidentally Danjoy, what do you think the 5.5 was roughly equivalent to?
My friendly housemate told the courier to go away so i'm still waiting on my new cells. Lovely...(i'll get them re-delivered on friday)

Anyone spotted shops taking pre-orders for the 4.5?

I want in... Interesting they got rid of the holes and are using tabs now. Would be interesting to see how deep those ribs are and if there's any great cooling effect.

I wish they could re-route the sensor wires. They're much too long and i hate having them sticking out the back. Off to a side is much nicer!

KillWency - the 5800 was great. I absolutely loved mine before i got the GTB. It will serve you well. Good speed and great torque. The run-time is pretty nice too

What are you planning on using it for?

Slightly off topic.

Does anyone know what this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXLHC4&P=V link at Novak http://www.shopatron.com/product/pro...=NOV5922/135.0 would do for my SS5800 (8.5) motor? Would it make it as powerful as the 6.5 or would it be equivalent to 7.5 or (theoretically) an 8.0?

Its an upgrade for stronger magnets and bearing for motor to last longer and maybe more efficient. I doubt if you will feel any speed difference.

Default 4300 & GTB combo pack

Hey Charlie

The oval crowd seems to be going with 4300, well here in FL. Are there any plans to have a combo package such as a GTB & 4300 package deal?

What's the equivalent brushed motor for these brushless motors. I'm trying to pick which is my speed limit.

I dont think a new rotor for your 5800 will change much, all you are gettting is the larger bearing in the endbell. All the winds are in the can of the motor, not what we would usually call the armiture.

The Rotor upgrade is also a slightly stronger magnet with slightly different shaft design. Makes the motor a bit stronger across the board.

There is no GTB/10.5 Combo.

Thanks

What do you guys think would be faster? The velociti 4.5 or the neo 4 star motor? (in a touring car for example)

Is that stronger in power, or stronger as in robust?

I would expect the neo 4-star to be on par with the novak 5.5 since it is only 1 turn less than the 3-star that is equivelent to the novak 6.5.

I think the only time you would need something faster than the 6.5 would bo on good sized foam tracks. For the typical asphalt or off-road application the 6.5 or neo-3 works out perfect and runs like a really good 10T brushed motor.

Isn't the Neo 4 Star a 4.5 turn? If it is it will run simlar to the upcoming Velociti 4.5

A Velociti 5.5 can't keep up with 7 turn or good 8 turn motors and any size track or any surface. One of my friends has a 5.5 and to go as fast as the top local mod drivers he has to gear up and this causes his GTB to shut down. If you run Open Mod wait for the 4.5. The 4.5 is on par with a 7 turn.
