Dear Novak,

Please, for the love of all that is holy, release the standalone GTB and free us from the idiocy of brushed motors.

Sincerely,

Adam

Hahha, sorry man, that wasn't meant to be a dig at you. I'm just playing around.

I've been feeling exceptionally frustrated lately with all the shortcomings of brushed motors. Nobody has really talked about it, but Novak is doing something interesting here. They've already said the GTB is their best brushed motor ESC, which sounds to me like it's better than their flagship GTX controller. When you consider that, with the fact that it also does brushless, things start looking really interesting. And it's not like brushless motors are very expensive in comparison to their brushed counterparts. Hopefully, as we go forward, we'll see this kind of convergence in all speed controls (even the cheaper ones) which will greatly further the case for brushless motors.

Default Agreed....

I'm disappointed in brushed motor cost and etc? I can't wait until the brushless take off at our track. Novaks did it smart with 3X the fets for regular brushed motors. That should get the brushed guys into it. Then it's only time before they want to try a brushless, since you know, they can use both. Reel'em in baby!

Default Brushless Band Wagon

Our club looks to be moving to brushless in mod touring. Most of our guys are moving towards the brushless because of the cost and getting tired of keeping the 8 or 9 turn mods running. I am on the brushless kick also and never looked forward to new tech. so much.
How does the GTB 5.5 feel in a touring car compared to the 8 or 9 turn?
How does the 5.5 do against them on the track?
God Bless

I can hang with pro tuned 7 turn motors on a high speed track. The GTB with 5.5 is the best thing ever!

Has anyone weighed the motor?
I just read on another forum that it's 30 grams heavier than a brushed motor. Has anyone else found this?

im not to worried, most of the cars right now have battery on one side and electronics on the other. Most people add weight to the electric side so it will just mean a little less weight to add.

The GTB and Sphere will both run all the motors available from Novak and Reedy. Harness are the same.
The concern about the weight is that I run offroad with it. (all components down the center, motor in the back). It has an effect on the rear suspension settings.

Default FTTC4 and GTB

Does anyone have pictures of their or any FTTC4 and a GTB installed?

I notice guys are shortening the wires to the motor, is it hard with being careful with soldiering the wires back on?
Thanks and God Bless
