New Motor for SS Sedan?

New Motor for SS Sedan?
This is purely speculation, but the IIC rules for 2013 show the motor in SS sedan as "TBD."
Could we see a move to something faster? Perhaps 10.5?
I like the idea personally. 13.5 feels a little bit too much like fast 17.5 than baby mod.

Presumably that's not the direction IIC is going based on amateur and stock still being 17.5. It's an interesting thought though. I think I'm more in the 21.5/10.5/mod camp myself.
Or even 21.5/17.5/10.5 if you're considering a spec mod which I know means you also hate puppies, baby squirrels and Jesus.

10.5 too fast? Says the man with a 4.x motor in his touring car.
I do agree but I feel it should be 21.5 as amateur
17.5 stock blinky
17.5/13.5 boosted as SS class as a boosted will get you more prepared for modified even though most don't really run boost on carpet.
Then modified.

10.5 blinky would be faster than mod was at a time when people began saying that mod was too fast.
If I could come up with a way to make a 17.5 motor as fast as a 5.5 I bet I could not keep them in stock. But people would still say mod was too fast.

I don't think it's the outright speed that puts people off so much as the abrupt power delivery. I think that's why boosted 17.5 was so well-liked, because you could go faster but it wasn't terrifying to drive in the infield, even with the light switch ESC's of the day. Probably why nitro on-road speeds don't seem to bother people as much either.
Just a guess. Unfortunately, blinky does nothing to solve this, and in fact makes things worse since the profiles are designed to deliver power as aggressively as possible. A problem that's exacerbated by going to faster blinky classes.

I could do 10.5 modified if people would race it although I suspect that if Lemieux, Hebert, Cyrul, and I raced in this class it would all of a sudden be "too fast".
I don't think 10.5 is too fast. But there seems to be a push to make the spec classes faster and faster while at the same time there are complaints that mod is too fast.
