Cool, thanks! Leaves plenty of time to hear about the compounds allowed and then test this spring/summer before worlds. Thanks for keeping the info flowing.

Last item left will be manufacturer selection
We are almost done to finalizing the pick for controlled traction for 1/10 & 1/12th that will be supply the 2014 Worlds Warm up & Ifmar Istc Worlds event
Hi, will the track be sugar watered or similar before the main events?
Just trying to gauge the kind of grip levels we can expect before I get some of the control tyres.

1 Day prior before practice
We use a sprayer which is holds 15 gallons
We blend a higher sugar ratio to water then mixed & add with 6-12 bottles of grape soda
1/2gal asphalt conditioner if needed
Practice or Club race
We then mix another batch 20lbs sugar in 10gl bucket + 6-12 bottles of grape soda top off with more water
This is based off on conditions in the morning needed just to add a more consistent track all around
All I can say is there has been times when we layed all the traction & it was a bit extreme with 1/8th & sedan gas cars traction rolling
but the conditons for rubber seems to be perfect
Hopefully this helps any ? shoot it our direction

And for Drivers that are attending the Snowbirds I will be attending also on Thursday,Friday,Then I will be at the track you can swing by to check it out If you like & then I will be back Sunday to the snowbirds to watch some mains

Thanks, it does help.

Will look for setup for high grip, compared to what I'm used to.

Will also get a couple of sets of the TC and 1/12 tyres to test over here.

One of the key reasons why spec tires in 12th scale is such a headache...

The way I understand what was passed is that there is one offset.

I have just seen an Email from IFMAR (Frank Mostrey)
Dear all,

Taking into consideration the predominant general feelings and thanks to the goodwill and co-operation of the organiser IFMAR has commonly agreed to revert the 2014 IFMAR world championship 1/12th from an Asphalt to a Carpet surface race.

We are well aware that this may come over as a bombshell. Many people will have to reconsider their engagements due to this important new element and its short notice.

A swift and ample communication flow is by then fundamental.

We trust you to spread this important information at your very earliest convenience to all concerned levels under your control.

No sense of us doing a press release since redrc just copied the Facebook notice
http://www.redrc.net/wp-content/uplo.../IFMARLogo.jpg
But I will elaborate a bit
Attending the 2014 snowbirds gave us the opportunity to sit and discuss this issue with the manufacturers at hand and talk with fellow racers
Special thanks to Mr Mobers for his passion on the discussion for 1/12th to be on carpet and most of all Team Crc Frank Calandra for donating the carpet to be used for this to happen is a major cost savings to host the event
More details to follow on the venue and location were it will be held

Spot the mad scramble for places by those who previously said 'No' because it was on Aspahlt....Hey, Mr Blonde....:P and frantic panic to try and organise the time off work!

George is going to have some serious rejigging of timetables, equipment and people to do.
