hey guys,

i know some people are disapointed with the TIE situation, but it is still an awesome event and people will always find something not to like

i loved watching it on the RC Scoring Live, it was awesome

but i think from reading everyone posts also people dont feel it is a race because there is no "A MAIN"

how about in good fun you throw out a couple of ideas of how you would like to see a MAJOR EVENT like this run

i am not bashing anything or anyone, i LOVE THE REEDY RACE every year and my GF thinks i am a whack job for watching guys names and times move around on a comp screen an then checking the RC TECH forum every 10-15 min for more updates

for an invite class like at this race

how about this 7 rds of qual.
2 rounds reshuffle

2 more rounds reshuffle

2 more rounds reshuffle

one more qual or the FINAL Qual. CHANCE TO MAKE THE SHOW

then run true mains A-Z top 10 cars in the A main

allows everybody to run with cars as fast as them and you get to watch a RACE in the A Main???

just throwing that out there

later,

Congratulatons to Team Associated for the win in the Invite Class, and Team Losi's win in Open Mod.

I know first hand how hard these teams work to prep for this race, the hard work and dedication paid off.

I would like to thank Team Associated and Team Losi for the help over the weekend, half the time I didn't ask, it was offered. I know you all had things you needed to do and I greatly apprechiate your willingness to help.

Thank you to the teams and individuals that ran 4 Fun Hobbies and Raceway stickers on your cars:
*Team Associated-Graig Drescher,Thank you for having one on your shirt for the post race pics.
*Team Losi
*Masami
*Jason E
*Howard Hudson
And to others I have missed.

I had a great weekend and look foreward to next year. I may not have done that well on the track ( I was schooled ), but an awesome experience.

Before I forget, I need to make sure I thank Barry for getting everyone to sign the door and your help when visiting.

BlackKat: No, that's not how it works.

It was explained over the PA numerous times, and at least twice before and during the final round. Mike Reedy wanted the throwouts to be just that: throwouts. So a bad start or a break or whatever would not have any effect on the final results.

Thus, if there is a tie after the 6 best rounds, it went to the number of 1sts, 2nds, 3rds, and so on in that order.

In this case, Craig and Jiles each had 3 firsts and 3 seconds.

The next tiebreak was the SINGLE FASTEST finishing time from any round.

In this case, Craig had a single fastest time of less than one second over Jiles, making him the winner.

Default Tie Breaker

I think the tie breaker was different this year, but Scotty told every Invite driver before Round 5 what the tie breaker was going to be. I heard Scotty say "Any questions......Any questions ??". There were no questions or comments.

It is best to not use the drops as a tie breaker. With all the rough driving once a guy is completely out of a race it is better for them to just pull it and save their tires and not become a lapper.

Craig totaled his car Saturday, and had to go to a different car Sunday.

I had dinner with Marc and Toni Rheinard Sunday night, two very nice guys. Marc's next race is an OFF ROAD race.

And who said Hara was bad at off road ? He made the A main at the ROAR Off Road Gas Nationals 4 weeks ago. www.gearsrc.org

Does anyone have pictures of Craig Drescher's car ? Preferably without the body. I should have added close up.

I think the best way to sum up the final result is that unfortunately, somebody had to lose in order for somebody to win. Both of them, Craig and Jiles, drove incredibly well, besting many of the more heavily favored drivers (Rheinard, Hara, Surikarn, etc, the names that were mentioned more often than others before the race).

I actually thought Marc had the best shot at the trophy going into Sunday, but he had some extraordinarily poor luck, I believe he had to pull the car in two of the final four rounds. That also goes to show how important it is to have clean starts and have a bit of luck as well.

Another example of that is Barry Baker... I believe of his 8 rounds, there was only 1 in which he didn't begin lap 2 in last place, or at least in the back of the pack. When those cars go around the sweeper the first time, it's so easy for any driver to get caught in the carnage, through no fault of their own.

It is, however, awesome to watch.
