Hoorah devil dog! The tuned F201 kit is the most cost efficient way to go. Most of the hop ups are already included in the kit, and they are anodized blue. If you bought either the F2001 Ferrari kit or the Williams FW24 kit, you will spend quite a bit more money to purchase hopups separately. If you still have the old F103, hold on to it or sell it. If you hold on to it and don't build it, it may be worth alot in the future.

I've discovered that SpeedtechRC.com has the best price for the kit. I'm not sure if they have any in stock. They also have a large selection of hopups for the car on the website. If the website says that it is out of stock, call them and ask for Steve (usually answers the phone) and ask for that item. Sometimes things aren't put on the site because they sell out fast. Tell Steve that Neil sent you.

The car will handle much better with the clear plate not installed.

Like Neal said the handling will be better and the front set-up can really be to your liking BUT!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you do not the re-enforced arms then avaid hitting anything or get used to replacing the lower arms.

The "tuned" kit does not have all the hop-ups, it missing 3 of them if my memory serves me right.

Set-ups are very tricky, first find out if it's cross/3racing/tamiya kit and go from there, next surface tar/carpet or concrete. We are currentll running indoors and on carpet . We have to use foams ( per owner, much differenet set-up for foams vs rubber.

motor/ESC/Radio/batteries... So much to find out.

Neil hit the nail on the head, go to www.formula1-rc.com and start reading.. It is worth the time and get yer printer set to run!!!!!

The tuned version that comes in the Blue box has the Speed tuned gears. The lightweight diffs is a different story. Are the outdrives for the stock diffs steel?I havent got to building just yet.

The "standard gear set" is 55/20 (7.15:1.) I think the high speed gear set is 52/23 (can't remember.) The metal diff outdrives are the standard ones. I'd get the lightweight ones if I were you. I have them on both of my cars. If you use the kit diffs, put loctite on the diff adjustment screw and the grub screw of it will back out taking away drive to the wheels. If you don't use loctite, as you walk back to your pit mid way through your main because you lost drive, you'll be cussing and wanting to throw your car at me or Chris for getting you excited about it in the first place.

Besides the light weight diff halves, the light weight counter gears, prop shafts, and prop joints ( I think that's what it's called), and the hex hubs. Oh and lots of o-rings.
