Hey guys just finished building my XI and took it outside for a spin but it seems under hard throttle it makes a very harsh almost grinding sound, which I'm guessing is from the drivetrain? I can't really explain what it sounds like, almost like something is slipping as no power will go to the wheels. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks in advance.

Might be belt slap.
Might be diff'ing out.
Might be gear mesh.
Might be rocks.

Too inconclusive to give informed suggestion of diagnosis at this point. Just know that it should not do this and it is recommended to tear down and re-build.

So I guess factory shocks will have a harder time getting a low ride height using 25mm springs?

Also I got some Sakura Zero sway bars sitting around, any chance they will fit?

Sorry for just seeing this to respond.

It says only available in brushed aluminum or sandblasted, BUT it came black anodized anyway. (Even though I added a note to the order asking for sandblasted, lol). So I guess you're going to get black anodized regardless.

They fit if they are the gold/black swaybars. Gold in the rear, black in the Front.

Do I need any special parts to install them?

If you have long set screws, ball ends, and ball connectors, you'll be fine.

If not, then you'll need this:

Thinking of buying this chassis for tc 17.5 racing carpet What would be good upgrades right of the bat? Just in case I order it today. Also any build tips?

U316 and U 317 (Swaybars and mounting kit).
Two packs of these will help too: http://www.rcmart.com/yeah-racing-p-...?cPath=389_443

The Floating servo mount is cool, but not immediatley urgent.

The rest is up to you.

If you want to stock up on consumables, get an extra pair of arms, knuckles, and c- hubs. Maybe also an extra top plate.

My setup is back 20 or 30 pages.

Also forgot to mention that the spur gear is an 80T 48P.

I swapped it to a 66T 48P in order to get the FDR's I was after.

Just went through this whole thread. Some good reading. Looking forward to building it.

How is this chassis compared to say a tc5r? I running that one in vta setup but I am gonna switch it to usgt setup. Or should I switch that one to tc stock and put the Xi sport into usgt?

I got a new body coming for usgt and don't to mount it to one chassis then decided to switch lol

I didn't order the steering upgrade at the time. Just the sway bar and shocks. Just under 200 can shipped. Stupid exchange. Next order I will get that plus sone goodies.
