if racing on carpet or high bite tracks:
SAK-U316
SAK-U317

sooner or later you will be replacing the plastic hex with aluminum ones (mine split)

Everything else brings very little performance gain IMHO if you are not good driver.

Thank you for this... I plan to purchase this kit, tomorrow, and trying to get all the "NEEDED" upgrades, options parts to have on hand for the initial build..
I have read (browsed) all the posts in the thread..
What All should I order with the kit from the start?
I hear several people complain about :
the bulkheads... needed or not?
The steering rack (plastic to aluminum) ?
Are there other "floating" servo mounts that will work with little to no modification to the chassis? AE etc?

Thanks in advance to whomever replies
Reese

Did you use zero hubs&knuckles?

I am thinking about buying one of these cars. Would it be a good choice for VTA racing? I saw some place that the servo mount was an issue. Is that correct?

Big success here in Slovenia for Sakura XI SPORT Team Slovenia :-)

VIRDOOR - 2.4 hours - 144 minutes - 2nd place with 998 laps KIH TEAM only 2 laps behing leaders with 1000 laps with almost stock Sakura XI Sport 17.5T motor (on 7000mAh run time of about 40 minutes!) , problem in the last hour was the grip on Ride tires (too much tire debris on the tire alone). Also 3rd place Team GAMA with 819 laps.

VIRDOOR 16.3. - 2nd and 3rd place Goran and Miha

VIRDOOR 2013 / 2014 championship - Goran 1st place!

Xray c hubs. Xi knuckles - which appear to be fully interchangeable with zero parts too.

I have found that the front arms break near the swaybar slot. Easiest fix would be to not crash....but in the event that this occurs, this design seems to put added stress on the arm.

To remedy the arm issue, I swapped my tbo3 Tamiya bumper back with the stock XI bumper. The extra length of the bumper seems to allow most front facing crashes to deflect damage away.

I switched to Zero front arms and Zero front sway bar.
Run front spool and 80 wt shock oil in rear diff.
We run 10.5t motors and foam tyres on asphalt. Need 6mm hexes to clear inside spokes of wheels.
Pin holders needed on driveshafts.
Use Turnigy Trackstar electronics and motors.

That's all you need!

I am considering getting one of these and noticed they have the weight as 1390grams. Is this possible? My current car is about that coming off the track. Thanks
