Arrow Sanwa Servo -> Futaba Reciever = Problem & Other ???

Since my Sanwa servo didnt come with any instructions, i dont know what order to put the wires in my Futaba Rx. I tried it with the stock and it was backwards.... not to mention a glitch factory.

I tried the Airtronics site, but to no avail. Anybody know how to set this up?

Should be signal left, positive middle, negative right side.
If it's a newer sanwa servo it should be wired right already. Just check and make sure the red wire is in the middle.

so im looking at Blue, Red, Black w/red stripe.

Seems its reverse no matter what. If its not reverse its not working at all. I could have the servo upside down... but i dont think it would fit my car like that

Also, i get a bigtime glitch issue when its working. This is the ERG-VRX servo, and im using a rather cheap Novak XRS. would i need a better ESC to handle this servo?

The motor is reverse no matter what? The esc really shouldn't have an effect on the servo. I could be wrong. I'm not to much into electric. If the servo works at all then you have the wires in the proper order. If they were backwards, it would not work. And if the neg. and pos. were reversed, it wouldn't work either, and possibly fry your reciever.

It may be possible you have a servo that is not compatible with the radio you are using, I'm not sure though. I do suppose also maybe the esc isn't putting out enough volts to the rx to power the servo properly. Your best bet is to ask the hobby shop, or pm one of the good electric guys here in the forums. They'd need all the info though. Like what esc, what servo, what radio etc.

So i have it narrowed down to 2 things.

Its either my ESC or my radio. I tested it on my Clod with a Super Rooster / JR XR2i and it was fine.

my XRS / 2PL combo is giving me the grief. I'll see if i can do some more testing tomorrow

When you say it was backwards did you mean it moves in the opposite direction that its supposed to with inputs? If that's the case then all you have to do is reverse the channel on that radio. Although that doesnt explain the glitching, and why you last servo moved in the opposite direction.

im thinking the glitching is from the weak BEC rating on the XRS (1) while the servo wants much more than that. Reversing the channel is no problem. My old servo was a futaba s3003 so its quite weak and slow

Thought of posting a new thread, but ill just bump this one.

How does one go about ensuring an ESC will give enough power to your servo?
Ive read so many different things, is there a cut and dry way to tell if your esc will give your servo the power it needs, other than using a FET of course
