just poofed my 21.5 today...

prior to that we discovered that the motor had become loose. Not the motor from the motor plate, those were tight. but the screws holding the motor itself together.

I could feel the loss of power during the race, but I wasn't going to pull over... 100ft after finish line, then poof. Prior to that I had never seen any temps above 150F.

What place were you in at TCS when it went?

Thats right where I am roughly. 4.06 fdr and 60 degrees with RPM stator and 12.5mm aqua torque rotor and the motor (not my driving!) is faster than most anything else in my 17.5 blinky sedan. 145 F at the end of the main with a 30mm MuchMore ultra rpm fan running off RX.

17.5 Killshots weigh something like 158 grams and have the simplest, most functional, elegant design of any motor I worked with. I love these motors!

You should also try a R1 if you can find one right now!

I've heard good things about those. I'll probably try one at some point.

I'll check my gearing and timing later, I don't remember what it's at, I'm sure I wasn't nice to it. But I loved driving it up until that point.

GT3 - TA06 21.5T - ( 82 / 52 ) *2.17 = 3.42

Timing at ~72.. motor was not over 150F in either qualifying heat.

oh and my battery died as well.

what went first, the battery or the motor? fan may have stopped spinning and poofed my motor?

Sorry to say what did it. All I know is most of these motors have poofed no matter what timing or temp it was at. But 70* lol is pushing it.

&0 is way to much timing. On a dyno they are at their best at around 55. Beyond 60 the efficiency drops like a rock as the amp draw goes through the roof.

I agree the d3.5 the timing maxed on sensor and endbell 55 degrees no need to go higher or it will self destruct the killshot
