Wow. I never would have tried that high of motor timing and that low of FDR to start. But since you actually tested it, I'll give it a go.

For different track say more technical versus a free flowing one or one with a longer straight, would I adjust motor timing more or only change FDR?

What's considered the max temperature for the motor outside the can or inside the vent holes to be safe.

Your help is much appreciated!

Ivan

Keep timing the same and adjust fdr. I would suggest getting a Superior Hobbies 30mm fan. Well worth the money! Keep motor temps below 160* for best results. I have been geared at 3.4 fdr and have temped motor at 120*!

Good fan used. 6 minute races.

Our track is just a tad bigger then yours and I tried that combo again yesterday and I still don't like it. I was .5 slower with that combo vs. the HT/HT combo both geared at 3.8. Our track is currently set up in the IIC config and the HT/HT geared 3.8 and 58* timing is a monster. It just doesn't seem like the RPM stator is all that great. I thought it would be awesome on a flowing track but I went back to the HT/HT combo.

You can't gear the rpm the same as the ht stator. I prefer the rpm for the track I run on.

What would you gear a rpm at?

The RPM stators actually look better on the dyno than the HTs do...

125' x 65' outdoor track rpm stator 12.5ht 4.0fdr 65 timing. Coming off track around 175deg.

I would have to run HT stator 12.3HT at 3.7 fdr 60 timing to get it running decent at the track I run at.

used a rs gen2 to watch internal temps and rpms around the track.

Gearing and timing depends on your track size!

Wow 175*! Our track is a little smaller so temps might not be so bad!

Same measurement here and my ht ht kill shot geared at 3.44 came off at 143*. That's with no fan and 127* ground temp
