Default TB-02 Pinion and Spur not lining up

Hi

On my TB-02 you have to put the pinion gear right on the end of the motor in order to line it up with the spur gear. Even then they don't align as well as i'd like them to. This weekend i stripped some gears because the don't line up properly. There's a bit of play in the drive shaft as well, which can make the spur move even further back from the pinion. Has anyone else had this problem? Any tips on what i can try to prevent this?

Turns out it was the motor that was worn and the motor's shaft had pulled back, causing the gears not to line up. Oh well, that's how we learn
