I've driven RCs around the streets for a while now, but this is something totally different. I know the kit is about $450, after buying that I should have a budget of around $600 for motor, ESC, servo and receiver.

Suggestions on servos would be great too.

I have the Futaba 3PL 2.4GHz FHSS Radio System. Is that good enough??

For ur electrics go to ur local track and see what ppl run as they can help with setup so u don't end up getting confused with esc profiles

as for ur handset keep it u can upgrade later or take it with u to see what the other ppl think of it down the track

I sent a PM about this.

Typically Stormer and AMain have them but they have been raided recently...I wonder why...lol!

You can also get them direct from Schu UK. It only takes a day or two longer.

96 or 90 can both work depending on track size.

I just received my Mi5 last night, it traveled about 5,231 miles to get to Minneapolis! And I did a quick unboxing so that you can see what you get with this awesome kit:

Also, I picked up Schumacher's Trix Tools from Amain Hobbies because I got tired of Hudy's ring system for hex sizes and I also got tired of my Hudy hex wrenches constantly rolling to the pit floor!

I am pretty sure the Mi5 uses the conventional diameter shocks. That means springs from any sedan will fit them. A-Main and Stormer have or will have Schumacher Springs in stock. Hofer is using Schumacher Green Front (16lb) and White rears (14lb).

But it looks like the springs for the 5 have new part numbers and are brand new springs. (they are different weights and are shaped differently then the previos set of black springs you see on amain for example). I have been using RSD/Reflex springs on my TCs, but unfortunately, they don't fit. They are too long and the lowest ride height I can get is 7mm in the rear.

I went ahead and ordered the new springs from schumacher directly.

Looks like the Mi5 has short shocks like many of the newest Sedans.

If you want to try different springs it may need to use the new short 20mm RSD springs for the T4 and AE short shock conversions.

The Mi5 has full length shocks, they just lowered the bottom mounting point to be able to do so.

Brandon, a way to make the RSD springs could be to switch out the bottom ball end/ spring perch. Have you seen if the AE TC6 (not the tc6.1 ball end, that's just a turnbuckle eyelet and too long) stuff fits? The TC6 Ball end is pretty short and lowers the spring perch,

Haven't tried anything like that yet. I'm kind of in a mad rush to get things here by the weekend.. im sure these things will all be sorted and figured out in the weeks to come. In the meantime, ill have the new shui springs to play with, and can try a lower spring perch for the RSD springs I have. I'm sure the feel and performance between the two sets will be different.
