Got mine done today. Picked it up from Speedtech last night.

1384 grams with regular rubber LTCR body. Stuck some old tires and wheels on for a quick run. 26mm wheels with 24mm inserts and Sweep 30e tires.

Built everything per manual specs. No rubbing, no leaking, no squeaks, and a no fuss build, but.... I had one button screw for the sway bar mount that came unthreaded. I have a few spare Ti ones around in the same size along with some old HPI Pro 2 purple bits. Liking the Reventon R and D3.5 17.5 combo too. Can't wait till Monday for some abuse.

First day at the track, WOW is this car a game changer for me. It has really good handling on low traction asphalt and was really easy to drive. Unfortunately I tested the durability by catching the protruding edge of a barrier hard at full speed at the end of the straight and absolutely no arm damage. Only thing was the aluminum arm mount screw sheared exactly as designed.

Great driving and durable, I'm impressed.

Had my first outing with the Mi5 Friday, all went really well for a first outing and made the A final still 13.5, snapped one of the alloy screws with a very light tap (maybe had it to tight) car was really planted.
Coming from the top photon ex I had to dial back the steering on my handset 25% and the linear curve by 15% as I cant stress enough how much steering this car generates.

Another driver of the mi5 hit the front wheel on a fast small straight with a tight kink in and broke his front right hub carrier twice and nothing else. it really just pulled the large screw out stripping the threads.

All in all really good move jumping to the Mi5, after 1st run I felt happier with it (with no setup changes from kit except 5.5 f 6 rear) than my previous car after fine tuning the setting over a full year.
Just waiting for the mid motor kit to arrive with a few other option parts to try on the next outing as I really only race carpet indoors 13.5 boosted.
but will have to wait a few weeks to try as missing the next club meet due to going to see motogp in Cataluņa.

First race with the Mi5 today... practice race day for stop #1 in the Northwest Asphalt Challenge next week. The car was good, but I wasn't overwhelmed. I ran basically the stock setup, with 1.5 camber front, and 2.0 rear. The car seemed pretty fast, with a LOT of on-power steering... but it wasn't nearly as easy to drive as my Tamiya 417x (that i have an entire season of experience with)... Ran brand new tires with a TON of grip in the main, and the car became quite a bit to manage... So for now, I have to reserve overall judgment until I get a couple more race days under my belt with the car. Potential seems high.

I have a few issues with the car though.

1.) My rear shocks are leaking a bit through the o-rings. Enough so that I wont be able to make a whole race day without a rebuild.

2.) All 4 corners (feels like the shocks) "tick" if I compress the arms quickly. If I compress slowly, they are smooth.

3.) My right rear arm seems to have a bit or a bind.. or a "tick" that is a bit different then the ones on the other corners. If I take the shock off the car, the arm feels 100% smooth.. and so does the shock. (each individually) It only happens when the shock is ON the car, but I can't tell where it is actually coming from. It almost looks like the inside of the suspension arm is rubbing up against the bulkhead... but you can't feel it with the shock off the car. I'm a little stumped.

4.) By my 5th battery pack, the bolt that goes up through the caster block, unscrewed it self a turn or two. Normally that wouldn't be a big deal, but when THAT particular bolt comes out (even just a little bit) it introduces a TON of slop in your caster. So I could wobble my caster between something like 0 and 8 degrees. I didn't catch it till after the main... it was a handful to drive like that.

Hopefully I can get some of these bugs worked out before the big race next week.

That might go away as the O-rings swell. Did you use green slime?

The Mi4 shocks needed a .1-.2mm shim under the piston (just like Tamiya shocks). Did you check that on the Mi5?

And how did you find it? You running on carpet? did you try normal position before as after a comparison.
Looking forward to trying mine in a few weeks.

Really good, Q2 P2 but made inroads on 1st place throughout the meeting. Was a tight track indoors on carpet. Needed a bit more initial steering but carried a lot of corner speed and rotated well with a lot of exit steering. Looking forward to more work on it this week!

but the first day out with the car wow its great my tc6.1 was fast but this just corners so fast and so much steering went from 80% steering rate to 70% and still had more then the tc6.1 really likd it. i ran the kit setup and was hitting my pb and then i put a set of hara black spring and i knocked off 7-8 sec off my pb by the 3rd or 4th round. dropped from a 15.8sec lap to a 15.54sec lap and the fastest 17.5t guy there today who put in the track record (he is alot faster then me ) said at one point after i had a coming togeather with other racers and he was coming to lap me he couldnt pull me in to lap me (untill i made a mistake thats why he is better )

It's stinks but perfection is impossible. Shoot an email to Mark at Schumacher (muz(at)racing-cars.com) and they will sort you out. They shipped my kit from the UK Friday and it will be here tomorrow. You won't have to wait long.

You are right about perfection being impossible, but missing a whole bag?? I can understand a part or two, but the whole bag??
