Also, BA13 looks out of stock. Tamiya (19808245)
BA13 comes in a set with the upper and lower balls. The part number is 54161.

BA15, the upper plate that holds the ball in carbon arms, is part number 42252.

Default Tamiya Aluminum Pitch Damper Set RM-01 for TRF101

Does anyone have a spare Tamiya Aluminum Pitch Damper Set RM-01, Tamiya part # 54341, they would be willing to sell?

I have the TRF damper on my TRF101, but wanted to try out the smaller damper as well. I had good luck with that part on the F104v2 and it helps reduce CG over the TRF style damper. I know a few people swapped over to the TRF shock as it is easier to set up, so I figure they may be a few laying around.

PM or email with any details.

Erik

Hi, What about this Kit? I just want to try F1 class but can't find this chassis available.
Maybe is better to start with F104 v2 pro?
Thanks for the info.

Hi all, picking the brains trust

Have been running the kit setup for about 5 weeks. No major crashes or general "out of control" issues. Track is flat, med grip, not bumpy, medium kerbs (Painted so tend to stay off them).

Have had to replace lower front arm (51381) as it keeps pushing out the lower ball (51461) out, has happened 4 times so far. It never occurs on the same side and at different times.
Have always replaced with new lower/upper ball and new lower arm. Checked the kingpin/shaft (54335) and they are true/straight, and have also replaced them as well just to be sure.

Anyone else having this issue? and any ways you solved it. Have had the F1 gurus at the track suss it out, with no luck.

I had this exact same issue with my TRF101 and I gave up trying in the end. This never happened to me once in racing 3 years for F104, but happened too often with this car. I think because of the stiffness of the upper graphite arm, it doesn't allow much play, so small touches on barriers or rubbing wheels with another car cause this when on the normal F104 such impacts didn't have the same result.

I gave up using the front end of the TRF 101 as it cost me race wins and installed the exotek on the front. It is a simply changeover and since doing that I've not had problem free runs with the front end. And the exotek allows such more changes to camber and caster that I think it's really the only option for the front of the car.

As loose as possible @diff without slipping. If you crumpled up the spring washers then replace.
I also have the f103 thrust bearing in it Steve. You will need to swap the spring washers for it to work. Glad you got the 101 .

ALso on Dans suggestion, got 1/8 balls and a precision racing or a robinson spur instead of the tamiya spur so you can use regular ceramic balls and 64 pinions.

Thanks bro. So the 103 thrust bearing replaces the conical washers?
