rtypec, This is awesome !!! I like it...

I notice you placed the battery in the middle, does it better as I have placed my battery at the rear.

Rtype: I like your battery forward set up. It's making me second think mine.
This is my first build in 20+ years and have no experience in F1.
The previous prebuilt and used kits I got, I eventually disposed because I knew I wanted to build something from scratch.

I am just wondering which set up would be better for indoor asphalt, medium to high temperature (Philippine tropical climate)... Battery forward or battery back?

I already know the answer is to try both set ups and see for myself... But I also don't really want to have to re-wire (re-solder) connections as much as possible.

Default Battery Forward

To be honest, I basically copied electronics installation with the battery in the forward position from FMW, RedbullFixx, and Vyger. I haven't run the 101 yet but my V2 on asphalt with the same electronics layout has been pretty quick. I'm in the same boat as you, it'll take a lot of work to move electronics around...so I'll just run it as is since ignorance is bliss haha

Even though it isn't as "clean" looking; Mounting the speedo on the side like your receiver will give you the option to move the battery forward, back, and mid for easy change setup options based on the track conditions.

I'm a little OC and paranoid about the ESC not "fitting perfectly" on the side. My concern would be the ESC getting damaged in a crash because it would be "hanging/exposed". I have little faith in the shell protecting the ESC.

As it stands now, my Futaba R2104 GF receiver is slightly overhanging from the carbon fiber chassis. I am considering getting the R204GF-E just for the smaller case.

This is how I got my front end ride height to 5mm with standard Tamiya rubber front tires. Basically I just added an extra 2mm all the way around. I used extra spacers left over from various Tamiya kits I had built. I believe this is the same as depicted in post #271.
