Default rubber tire / carpet ride height...

I'm looking at this new front end. If Tamiya were to make a hollow ball similar to the one used on the bottom arm, you could easily achieve the ride height needed for rubber tire racing on carpet.

The spring would simply slide into the ball and you could shim to taste.

I have trouble believing Tamiya didn't consider that a fair amount of customers will run this front end with rubber tires on carpet. 5mm to 6mm of ride height won't cut it.

First F1 car to build so I'm a little unsure if I'm doing this right. Following the build/setup instructions my roll springs do not touch the lower brace arms.

Should I lower the screw (BC6) till the roll springs sit on the lower brace arms or should I remove the BA10 washer?

Lower the screw. The 5mm is just a suggestion.

Where can I get copy of the manual? The Petitrc link didn't work and its not on Tamiyausa yet. My kit should be here next week and I'd like to read through the instructions to kill some time.

I hope this is not a stupid question...would this be an F1 only race? I live nearby. I have TC and Tamiya mini.

Thanks

All done! Alonso version F2012. Ready to test tomorrow. Got the Front ride height 5.5mm, rear 5.5mm as per manual. Using RIDE R1 tyre front and rear.

Looks good! But why "56" instead of 5?

And don't be alarmed when the front wing starts to drag on the pavement. They all do.

You notice that too huh? Well this kinda mix Alonso and Massa I must say though I put little Alonso name behind the head if you notice. I think Massa helmet design is nicer than Alonso.
