Shocks, asphalt vs carpet

Shocks, asphalt vs carpet
Quick question about rebuilding my or building since I purchased a T4 and asphalt season is starting... On carpet I was using between 40-50 losi oils in my photon and found 42.5 all around was the best for my driving style( maybe that'll change since I'm only racing 6-7 months) but now since I'm going to be using xray and most likely their oils what's a good start?
If I'm not mistaken the hotter the weather the thicker the oil, which makes sense since it'll thin out as it gets hot, so does this mean losi 60 will work like 30 if its hot enough..
Just want to have a good starting point when I start building the car this weekend..
Thank in advance

I only used those #'s as an example and the brand since I'm familiar with them

No-one with an Xray uses oils anywhere near that thick.
Start with either kit or 450 cSt etc.
What sort of track and air temps will you be in?

Start of the season will be around 60degrees F and in mid summer anywhere from 85 - 100 F not too sure about the tracks as it'll be my first time there but they held the 2011 nats there, Jackson raceway or speedway not sure I just know it as Jackson

Hey, Joe. Actually, Losi oils tend to run very thick, so a Losi 60wt ends up being near a 900cst!
I would probably start with 400cst all around and go from there. Al and the gang always spray the track really well, so grip is never a problem even when temps are in the 60s F.
Echoing Eric's suggestion I would run 2.7/2.5 f/r to start with. If the car ends up being too stiff or aggressive you could always go down to 2.7/2.3-2.6 f/r. If it feels unresponsive you can go up to 2.7/2.7 f/r.
I and other Xray drivers will all be at the track as well, and I'll share my setup as I create it.
