Battery Discharge Terms and Definitions
Guys lets not confuse people here. I notice many people using the wrong words to describe levels of battery discharge.
I see 3 levels of equalizing/discharge.
1) Cutoff Method: 0.9 per cell or which ever voltage you discharge each cell to but not to 0 volts.
2) Zero volts: (0v) which lots of people here loosely use the term dead shot which it isnt.
3) And finally Dead Short: which cells are brought to zero volts and then shorted across the terminals (dead short)
I see too many instances of people refering to discharge to 0v as dead short. This is WRONG. This coupled with Eagle's clone of the Much More Zero-V equalizing tray being named DSD (Dead Short Discharger) we have more confusion here.
Hope this helps the newbies or the misinformed so they do not perform the wrong choice of maintanence on their cells
