This is a direct link to the file as there is no website yet..
Additiontional files may be needed in order for the software to work, download these from

Hello Ian,

I tried myself to write a graph program for protrak but I couldn't "connect" with ProTrak. Is it possible to find/send me the code or at least the part that is responisble for connecting with Protrak?

Thank you

Nick

Protrak is a charger/discharger made in England by an RC enthousiast!

To my opinion one of the best in the market

Thumbs up Pro-Trak

I agree Pro-trak is one of the best chargers out there today. Phil is an awesome guy to deal with. Thanks for the link for the new graph software, I will give it a try.

No the charger and the pc have never worked together. With my turbo 35, I configure the hyperterminal to work with com1 the serial port. I just plug it in and it sends the data to the hyperterminal and i have all of my numbers. With the pro trak, I don't know if I'm suppose to use hyperterminal. But with hyperterminal, i can set the baud rate, the parity, the stop bits and etc. I hope i can get this thing working, i'm afraid to call Phil since my bill last month was almost triple the amount it costs us per month to have a phone. I would appreciate the help.

I managed to get it to work ok...it was a long time ago. I had to make sure the charger was on the main menu screen-- (charge, discharge etc) before I opened the program on the PC...it would then work.

Also I think I had to have everything plugged into the PC and charger and charger switched on before I switched the PC on...it was some weird sequence but thats what you get for DOS based and not USB!! Never had to play with hyperterminal though!

picco007 - What software are you using?? if your using the old DOS based software it can be hard to get to work. If you are using the DOS software download the new software from the link at the top of the thread. If your allready using the new software it should be pretty easy. This is what i do with the new software

1. plug the serial cable into com port 1 or 2
2. turn on the PC
3. conect Pro-trak to power supply
4. plug the other end of the serial cable into the pro-trak (plug on left)
5. plug the individual cell leads into the pro-trak and conect them to the cells along with the main red and black wires
6. Open the new software and choose which com port you are using (top right of the screen)
7. press the button in the software for whatever you want to do
8. choose where on the PC you what to save the data (it will be a spreadsheet file)
9. choose what to call the spreadsheet data
10. within a few seconds start what you want to do on the pro-trak
11. the graph should now start to draw and the data will be saved to the spreadsheet file
12. when the pro-trak has finished take a screen print of the graph and save.

thats it, no hyperterminal stuff at all, if you still want to use the DOS software ill post instructions for that aswell
