Default Gearing of a 19 turn spec motor

I am making the switching from 27 turn to 19 turn in my touring car. Can anyone give any advise if I need to gear up or down on the 19 turn?

Gear it the same as a Monster Pro to start. Go up or down a tooth as needed (size or track, etc..)

you gear up and it depends on the track size you should try asking someone who runs 19t where ever your racing and ask them what final drive are you running and you will know what pinion you should get

Most 19 T motors are 3t higher in 64 pitch, C2 roll out around 31 mm Reedys are even higher. Hope this helps.

Wow, some interesting comments, but the experience I've noticed with most guys with quad mags is final gear ratio of 6.0 + or - a tooth depending on track, that of course is with rubber.

Default Gearing of a 19 Turn Spec Motor

Thanks for all the data. I should have told you that I am running an Xray with a Trinity Chamelon motor. The track is a 13 turn asphalt track with 2 (80') straight aways. Lap times are 18 seconds in stock. Information from competitors is they are running 6.9 to 7.2 on the stock motors.

That sounds about right. We run on a 130 + foot straight asphalt track and we are running 6.4 to 6.6 with a C2.

On element 19t. we run anywhere from 5.9 to 6.1 fdr.

Almost the same on a reedy 19t. too.

Asphalt on rubber tires.

Default Xray

We struggled a bit on carpet and got hammered in the B-main two weeks in a row and broke a c-hub and hub carrier. I really like the car and this will be the first weekend on pavement. I switched over to the other chassis, as I don't want to scratch up the perfect BMI chassis.

If you have the information available could you pm me some basic pavement chassis data. I plan to get another motor from Tag. I see that he picked up Brandon as a team member. Nice guy and very good driver.

Thanks

Paul

I'll send you a PM with a setup I would suggest using that BMI adjustable upper deck.....you can dial in the flex of the car with it and it's a one of a kind piece
