What prevents it from being legal? The wheel track is adjustable so it can be made to track under 190mm.

UF1 http://uf1rc.com/ has the car introduction on their home page and it meets the regulations. Is there a specific series that is not allowing it?

I think I will have to take a photo of our SP1 with the body....the rule said MOUNTING point....my car is setup at 184mm front right now and the mounting hole position are well within the body...

Even on 190mm setting...the mounting point(the hole/screw) are still within the body....please define the mounting "point"....not the mounting module/unit.

Also, SP body, F68, is wider on the front end...may be some other body are also wider...it can be well cover within the body.

The rule is upper inner pivot point of the A arm, so we aren't running 12th scale front ends. The upper arm meets the criteria. The lower arm is fixed with adjustable width as mentioned before.

You making this stuff up? It's already been demoed at the UF1 Midwest race and raced by Solara and deemed legal.

If you're not sure, just check the website and the rules section of UF1.

"All front suspension mount points must be located entirely within the body shell (no pan-car front suspension systems). Adjustable link front ends are OK as long as the inner mount point is located within the body. Custom ‘flared’ bodies are not legal."

I got it from UF1 website.

I'm sure they will allow you to race your car. Worse case scenario, run the speedpassion body.

On a side note, I always felt interpreting the rules was much more fun than taking them literally word for word.

Nice pic. Are the securing screws coming up through the outer or inner holes? If inner, then you'd be pushing a fine line, but they look to be under the body and out if sight with the F60 body width. If outer, that definition would be correct. The F104 pro body is a lot wider at that point and has no flares. I planned on the F68 body as it looks more up to date than the F60, so I'm not worried when mine arrives. I have the F60 on my F1R and it is great.

OK....the worst and worst case, SP1 can use the F104 front end of it...

However, I have read the RULE several times, and I think the IDEA of that rule is preventing the 1/12th scale type of front end into the F1 chassis. Kinda like the early verison of the Corally F1 car....thats all. It is not really targeting to our car. But if the rule is really that picky about the position of the nuts and screw, then I can't help it.

This class is already small...and if the rule to make it smaller, it is just not healthy.

Let's get the legal department in here to sort this out. Mean while, I'm still waiting on my SP1!!!!! Patiently waiting that is....

I'm starting to like this F1 stuff even more. Even the rules interpretation is true scale F1 stuff.

That's a 190mm setup in the picture. If you look closely at the lower front mounting point which shares the same location of one of the caster block hole, it will always be out side of the body, at least the F60. I am not sure theres any scale body that is wide enough to cover that point.

You will be contacted by our office soon via email....as long as you are on the pre-order list.

Yes, next thing we should do is having TEAMMATE beating each other for the position and TEAM manager screwing up about the team order on whos taking the 1st and 2nd position..............not to mention, driver pitting to the wrong pit...LOL

I did some more search on the net....beside SP1, Yokomo new F1, VBC new F1, Corally new F1, 3Racing, F113, TRG new F1, Hiro Factory.....none of them will make the UF1 rule. Kyosho is pushing it too.....

And TOP RACING F1....obviously would be illegal right?

I think UF1 should considered to refine that rule a little....I honestly don't know having the 12th scale front end on a F1 will have any ADVANTAGE over the typical F1 type....but I have to agree, it DOES NOT look like F1 car, that for sure.
