Click on a heat and it has the results and a 'video'. It is a really cool feature, hopefully they can find a better static camera location that would show the whole track

What a great day of racing today. We had a full program, and hopefully the weather holds and we have another tomorrow.

Just day one. They did a good job of showing the carpet nats on race day. Had a chance to go back and watch myself fail all over again..

So I guess i'll go ahead and be "that guy".. how come Knapp gets to run stock TC? Especially considering all the crap they gave past champions at carpet nats...

Several others have asked that too. Roar wouldn't answer from what I heard from a few others.

Im sure if it was a big enough issue a participant could simply file a protest formally. ROAR has already stood ground that the rules are the rules. Unless the rules have changed; there is no way this can be rationalized.

I dont think folks mind strict rules -they just want consistency.

From my understanding it is because asphalt and carpet are a different surface. If Knapp has not won an asphalt nat, then he is ok to run 17.5.

I don't know if Knapp has won any 17.5 asphalt nats though.

ok. never mind.

Smyka is running as well. Maybe there was an exception because they were signed up for 13.5 and nobody showed up for that class? Not sure though, but 12th scale had a bad turnout.

131 entries and I believe there is a total of like 12-14 cars combined in mod and stock.

Bigger concern is someone not getting caught with an illegal body in the first round of qualifying in one of the TC classes and setting TQ.

Anyways, the racing was great today.

Story lines:

LRP speedos shutting down because of the grip of the track in mod tc. HW based ESCs and ORCA running great.

Paul Lemieux is in a league of his own.

Very close racing in 13.5 and 17.5 TC. Mod cars are barely faster.

Track is grippy and very technical. It looks high speed, but it is not. Lots of ondulations and off camber end of the straight makes for an extremely challenging track.

RSD Drivers doing well.

Andrew Hardman 3rd or 4th in mod right now, I am 8th with one horrible run and 1 decent run with a terrible first lap.

In 13.5 I am sitting 3rd overall with Chris Adams in 7th.

Good weekend so far.
