Hi everyone looking at getting an F1 car and want to find out what might be best for what I will be racing on and thats carpet.

And wondering what people think is a good indoor F1 car around 250 to 300 is my price range.

I run a Tamiya 104W. It's the Maclaren Mercedes kit. I installed an aluminum diff and motor mount. I'm also running a 1.3 mm t-plate. The tires that come with it are hard. Pretty much everyone runs Pardous tires. The friction shock is worthless so I installed a shock from my TC5. So grand total you are looking at about $260 for a rolling chassis. I know Phil at Eclispe Hobbies has been making some package deals so you might want to talk to him.

Ken, I believe you have a standard width 104. The 104W has the 103 front arms and 103 wheel offset.

Kurt, you can get a stock F104 in either Ferrari F60 or Mercedes MP24 from Tamiya. Those go for about $175 to $200. Another choice is the 3Racing FGX for about $120 plus body and stuff.

Come on over to Eclipse around 2:30 and check it out.

I have just got into F1 myself and am in the process of building a TRG111.

I was looking at getting an F104 X1 or Pro VII however got the TRG111 with all the necessary F104 Pro alloy partns needed to complete cheaper than the F104 itself

If you stick with the F104 tho, get the Exotek conversion
