New 13.5: reedy sonic or trinity maxzilla?
Hi guys,
I need a help in chosing a new motor, I come from an lrp x12 and i want something more powerful and fast if is possible.
I run 13.5 blinky and surfing in internet I am pretty well attracted by reedy sonic but I've also got the possibility to get a trinity d3.5 maxzilla.
Could someone help me with personal experiences? All other suggestions are well accepted.
Thanks for help.

Thanks for the help guys,
one other question, in addition to the more power in general if I buy this motor I will have also more top speed in wide tracks or no? I did this question because I run in a nitro truck that have a very huge straight in wich the x12 seems to be the fastest motor.

Because of the tork in the d3.5 motor you will have to gear differently than normal to get the top speed down long straights. As an example I run 13.5 pancar in blinky and had to switch from a 88/42 gear with the sonic to a 78/43 on the D3.5 to get top speed but boy is it so much faster.

in my local area there is a good variety of brands. however the trinity motors always seem to have more power than the others. i have owned a few different brands and the trinity products are what i like to run. more power= more gear= more speed! they also handle heat very well if you push them a little to far.

Of course within a few weeks, everyone else had gone out and got a D3.5 and my big advantage was gone. At least I am only a second behind Rich instead of several laps down

Keep in mind that there are two versions of Trinity D3.5. The standard motor with the stock purple rotor and the Magzilla version that comes with the high torque blue 12.5mm rotor. They need to be geared differently but they are both FAST.
Shadowracer24 gears his WGT with a D3.5 13.5 Magzilla 78/43
I gear my Standard D3.5 43/88 and we were the same speed.
He TQ'd and got 1st and I got 2nd on Sunday. We followed each other with the same interval for 30 laps...lol!
I think the Reedy Sonic is a great motor too. I want to get one. I do hear its likes to run max timing. Walt Henderson got 2nd and 3rd in 1/12th and WGT at the Cleveland Camps this year with his 13.5 Sonics so they are certainly competitive.

I am intending to start racing 13.5T class (boosted) and planning to buy the Trinity D3.5 standard/Maxzilla motor.
But I read somewhere saying that the standard D3.5 with 12.3mm rotor is better than the Maxzilla version with 12.5mm rotor for boosted class.
Is it true?

Looking for new 13.5T motor for Blinky 1/10-touring ?
Starting to run 1/10 touring Xray T3 , with Blinky 13.5T and rubber(Europe). Looking for the best/fastest motor, as everybody. Our tracks about 150-200 square meters.
Now running a low price 13.5T Turnigy Trackstar 3100kv.
Looking at the Trinity 13.5T D3.5 Maxilla is 4600kv, huge difference, wow!
Thunder Power 13.5T is popular at lokal track, kv ?
And what about Shuurspeed 13.5, kv ?
How measure these motors against each other,
kv,
watts,
efficiency ???
(Not much info on Amain)
Anybody compared these i Blinky 13.5T-touring ?
