I'm not sure if it has been asked in this thread (read all 20 pages tonight), but I wanted to know what the biggest motor you could install with the factory motor mount is. Could I put in a Castle 2200kv [Motor Diameter: 39.98mm (1.6")
41.78mm (1.6") with fins Motor Length: 75.18mm (3")] motor without purchasing one of the mounts on eBay. I don't have any notions of racing in any form of competitive league, just the competitiveness of friends (I could be racing a nitro stadium truck and a Monster Beetle all at once).

Thanks Dragonfueled. I just got my GT2 over the weekend. I haven't taken it out yet because I'm waiting on some parts and paintjob stuff. I grabbed a 1258tg servo for the steering too. Looking forward to it being pretty zippy. I had an XO-1 and liked it, but it didn't handle well. Everybody said these are really agile (along with an Ofna and Mugen - but they were way more) so I had to try it.

I've looked for foams buy couldn't find one that fit the standard 17mm Hub or that say for 1/8 scale. You gotta link to the correct ones?

Just got mine up and running this past weekend and took it out for a little shakedown in a big parking lot up the road. After 10 or so minutes of hard running with a 4100mah 4s LiPo and a 17 tooth pinion, the motor was only slightly warm to the touch. This thing has a stupid amount of torque with the existing setup, I can break all four wheels loose even at speed. I have a set of the GRP treaded tires on order, which is what folks are using at my local track, in hopes of getting a little more grip.
  • Tekin RX8 Gen 2 w/ Tekin T8 1900kv
  • Hitec HS-7940TH servo
  • Audi R8 LMS shell (paint still in progress)

The grps getting more grip are an understatement. I'm using the #2 compound slicks and they damn near dead hook. Forward traction is insane. I went 90.3 mph with them last weekend and the were perfect. Great tires
