Ionic Discharge?

I just brought an ionic charger. Can anyone tell me if this includes a discharge function? the instructions say that is has a battery condition analysis but i am unsure what this means. I am fairly new to the electric scene and am still using ni cad's so i need to fully discharge them. How else can this be done if the ionic doesnt do it?

Unfortunately no, I've never used the charger. According to Novak, it has 3 selectable user functions.

-discharge before charge
-charge only
-discharge only
