I am definitely getting at TT02 S. I saw somewhere that there will be a provision for droop screws.

Just to continue with conversion discussions. Those of you with Type-S know this but those that don't have the car, you can see the 'special' pieces needed for the conversion. There are not that many as seen in this picture. The complexity is that you then need the complete suspension and drives from a 417, 418, 419, TB04 Pro or similar.

I guess it would be more cost effective to buy the Type S kit itself.

Plus the shock towers and the suspension spacers/mounts are not really available separately.

Yes, you will be able to buy the parts to convert it. Here is are the part numbers, not all of these parts are available yet, but will be very soon (June)

TT-02 to type-S conversion parts

Tamiya 54634 - Suspension metal parts set
Tamiya 54632 Front carbon Type S shock tower
Tamiya 54633 Rear Carbon Type S shock tower

and also to get droop settings sorted you can get

Tamiya 54638 - Steel rebound stopper (You will need two of these as they only come as a pair). You can only fit the rebound stopper on this steel suspension set, not on the kit set (I have been told, but cannot confirm). so if you have the S you can buy the seperate parts 54636, and 54637 which replace the kit part and are cheaper than buying the full set.

The TT02 is turning out to be quite a competitive entry level chassis. Almost all of the features I am looking for is there. Plus I can mount those lovely Tamiya bodies I want without making a mistake in doing so (I am bad at it). All I have to do is follow the dimples! Yes!

The weakness of the car are the steering uprights. I would definitely by aluminum after front uprights.

Yep, but if you move over to Type-S that is resolved as the TRF416 uprights are fine.

You could also look at adding TA04 suspension arms on the S as they are really tough.

Oh my... I just gave away all of my TA05 V1 arms, uprights, and knuckles as part of my deal.

But won't that restrict the wheelbase adjustment as well?

I had a simple guide. you can actually try to use some Metal PC spacers to do the same thing as the machined parts

Thanks for this info Qatmix. Now if only our LHS brings these in. I already have the carbon unit for the regular TT02. It works just fine with the transplanted TRF suspension I'm using.

Do you have a picture? I've done this on quite a few TT02s for friends and not had an issue
