pizza dude: thanks. is the SP12M already the latest 12 scale of corally? i thought they were coming out with a new kit. Also, i saw Sakke's car in last year's world's but its quite different from the SP12M. would you know what it is? the lower deck is still similar to the 12M but there are obvious differences.

the one pictured was customised by Sakke. I think his setup mentions the specifics.

Robo,
The latest 1/12 from Corally is the SP12M SPECIAL.
I think this is at this moment only available as an upgrade kit for the regular M (BK mentioned).
This is the M with modified upper deck and side tubes.
BK could well be right about the personal mods Sakke made to the chassis.
BK
Do you gauys run 1/12 on tarmac/asfalt or carpet?
Also some racers change their front suspension back to the old Corally front beam which connects the left and right upfront.
In some cases this makes the car quicker on carpet.
Anyone had a chance to try yet?
Regards,
Pizza

Speaking for bk, we have just started running 12th again on tarmac, quite a new track on old netball courts, but hopefully will be refurfaced, and a permanent layout laid soon, grip has been realtively low, although we usually run a combined nitro and electric race day, as such the nitros lay down a lot of oil which brings the grip up a ton.
We have been having a ball lately, very little running costs, and little maintenance, i have been running the older Corally car G3 i think its called, it has been pretty good although it only takes the slightest crash and the cells jump forward into the front slots,as it is a 6cell car run with 4 cells, i cant figure out how to stop this without affecting the cars tweak.

SP12M
Hello All!!! Sorry for the absence but I have been very busy latley. As for the 1/12th scale car the SP12M is the latest version available at this time. The Upgrade kit will be available soon. The mods that Sakke made to his worlds car have all been made available in this kit. I would call this kit an "advanced tunning kit". The 12M works very well out of the box the Upgrade kit offers more tuning possibilities and consistancy than that of the standard dampning system. The cells are also moved 5mm to the rear of the car as well as a new tweek system. I have converted my 12M to this new design and love the results. There is alot less maintnance to be done to the rear of the car to achieve a consistant feel. In my opinion 1/12th scale racing is the best form of racing going. If you want to sharpen your driving skills this is the way to go. There is soo little room for error to keep the speed through the corners that it forces you to drive the perfect line.
I would recomend having extra front end parts as those are the most likley to break.
Thanks,
Jeff Antle

Janntle/BK/Pizza: thanks for the info guys.
Jantle: does the corally USA site take international orders? im way over here in Asia (Manila) and would really love to get my hands on the SP12M and eventually the upgrade kit. Hope i can hear from you soon and that you can help me out. if ever, i'll be the only guys running that kit here in the midst of RC12s and the Yoks.

Besercoe,
Use a dummy cell in the front slots.
I often use a piece of plastic pipe, which is pretty light and should solve the problem.
Good luck.

returning the Assassin... i would like to see a few other improvements on the released product....
1. use of standard body posts, using std body clips/pins.
2. T10 screws but titanium would be nice.
3. Color coded spur gears, espec for the 1 belt setup as it appears to require special spur gears.
what else would we like to see?

Externally adjustable threaded shocks > C4.1 had these and we hated them, everybody put Associated and Tamiya units on their cars. I believe the new car is using Serpent/Xray bodies with fixed pistons.

Where were you able to order your Assassin? Master, Pro? Price?
Some people don't care for the Corally threaded body clips/posts as they take a bit longer to remove, but they don't fall off the car in a wreck or bend and they allow the body to float a bit if installed correctly.
If you install them both upside down and cut the post, they lay almost flush with the body. Pretty cool if you ask me.

Sorry I can only say that it will be a Master
I love the posts on my 4.1, never lost the body and I have picked up plenty of clips for the off-roaders LOL
