Can anyone recommend a good diff lube??? I have been using Associated, but supplies have ran out..any good alternatives out there???

BK: I have seen a couple of people speaking of their bearings failing on the car in very short time spans from the time they were new. I myself had issues with the bearings on my C4 AGLE, but not as of yet on the C4.1. I'll have to see when I go to give them a good cleaning.
Why not buy some more Associated grease? Is it hard to come buy or overly expensive there? Why not use the Corally diff grease? Or Losi's diff grease?

Associated, Losi, Kyosho, HPI all seem the same and work good for me. The Corally lube is similar to Trinity (joel johnson), kinda syrupy and very smooth but expels itself out after a couple weekends... too much hassle for me. For the bearings I recently cleaned and lubed them with Liquid Wrench with Teflon. After you clean them out ( make sure you repeatedly spin the bearings to loosen the gunk inside) let it soak in the fluid for 24 hrs then spray them once more. Before putting them back in your car let them sit on paper towels over night to obsorb excess. prepare to have extremely smooth bearings.

I can't find any associated diff grease around at the moment, i might try some Losi. I have not used the Corally stuff i have because it looked like it had melted (in sunlight maybe??), and looked like it might exit the diff rather quickly!

yeah ..did it look lile there wasnt any in the bottom of the container?..
I thought the same,,, but it is in there,,just dip the diff balls in there, roll em around, and they will get plenty...
I found that this lube does give nice smooth diffs, but dont over apply the lube, as it "gums" the diffs up..
they dont seem to stay smooth for too many race meets though...they need rebuilding every second or so race meet

Yeh, i seem to be rebuilding my diff every three weeks or so, but it is worth it..good performance is the return. I allways keep one spare diff prebuilt in case of emergency.

BK- Your right it does look like it was a substance that was more consistent, that happened to melt at some point.
But, I have found that I like the Corally lube. It and the Associated lube are about all I use.
However, I felt the diff of a friends XXX-S, and that had to be the smoothest diff I have ever felt. I can't seem to get my diffs to that level of smoothness. So maybe the Losi stuff is worth a try.

Can you guys tell me what's the difference between Corally SP 12-G3, SP12-G6 and SP12 M.

The 12M is the newest car, it has an entirely new front suspension that is very adjustable, reactive caster, sway bar, etc. Also the car has a lower T-bar set up the is even with the cars chassis. This was designed to provide a lower roll center for tracks with less traction, this is adjustable too. The roll center can be raised up or down, you can also add anti sqat to the rear.
The G3 is the former top of the line Corally, and is still a good car. The G6 I would imagine is the G3 with the 6 cell chassis.

On the C4.1 as anyone here tried running with reactive front caster?? If so..how was it??

Hey B.K..I ran reactive castor for a while, thought it was pretty good, but then noticed none of the european team drivers were running it at the euros/reedy race etc..so I switched back...
I can't recall a huge difference, but worth a try If you havent run it yet..
Heres a kewl mod to try if your wanting something different..run a rear shock tower on the front!..it allows you to have the same geometry front and rear, the 3 laydown postions almost match up with the original towers 3 holes, and you then have 3 stand up positions!,,
Cookie and I have run it and reckon its pretty damn kewl...
you mount it to the bulkhead using the NO_6 camber link hole..and a slight modification is made to the lower portion of the tower, to allow clearances to the diff...
give it a try!
