Here's more for my wish list- maybe axles that have a more effecient geometry so that when the knuckes turn the 'bones' don't pivot back and forth? Smaller lighter diff balls? Front droop screws you access from the top? A molded dual plate front foam bumper mount? Heat fins milled into the bulkhead that holds the motor?
The atlas layout is a perfect example exept offset the diffs slightly more so that the battery can be in a few extra millimeters and of coarse a single belt. You can still use dual ball diffs and fly...

I bought Trips's C4.1 and I should have it tomorrow, I finally will own a Corally, YAY!!!!anyway, im curious as to what setup you guys are using on asphalt? I run on asphalt that is smoothed out with tar(permanent track), was just redone and this Friday will be our first race(I think) on the new track, so im gonna run it..I will probably put a basic setup on it with the same springs I run on my schumacher and work from there...Thanks for any help you can give!

The Corally likes to run fairly soft... I'd keep the springs that are on there to start and see how you like that first.
One thing I have to mention... I used Associated spring perches at the bottom of the rear shocks to get the ride height down. The original Corally spring perches are in the box with the car, I felt that with the longer rear springs the Corally perches were holding the rear of the car too high.

Ok, I have blue, yellow, and red schumacher springs, at the moment those are the only ones I have..which would be best?
im running yellow on my axis2..im also running the front and mid oneway(tried with diff and couldnt run it.)Thanks

Right now the car has Serpent orange springs up front and white in back. There also four Serpent yellow springs in the box. To my knowledge, the oranges are the lightest, next come the whites, and the yellows are the heaviest.
I'm not sure how Shumacher springs compare, but I think they're alot stiffer than Serpents. I always ran my AGLE version on orange front and white rear, so I went with those on the 4.1. All the setup sheets on Corally's webistes showed ornages up front and whites in back too.

Theres another issue as well. Cars like the Schumacher and most other tourers like to be set up with an even set up all around or a stiffer front than rear, but NOT the Corally. It requires a softer front end than rear. Yeah I know it sounds odd after running other tourers, but trust us, thats what it takes.
Forget the schumacher springs and start with the orange up front and white in the rear. I use two holes open on the pistons with 35wt oil. I know this once again sounds odd when compared to using 80-100wt oil in the schumacher, but again, trust us, the car runs well when soft. Heres the full set up of what I run on our asphault.
Darksides setup:
(FRONT)
castor: medium clip in front, large and small behind the upper arm
toe-in: 0 degrees
camber: -1 degrees
Ride height: 4mm
shock tower mount: hole 3
arm shock mount: lower hole
spring: orange
(REAR)
toe-in: 1 degree total (.5 each side)
camber: -1.5
Ride height: 5mm
shock tower mount: hole 5
arm shock mount: only stock arm hole
inner camber mount: hole four
anti squat: .5 degrees
spring: white
Along with this set up I ran the kit tires that came with the car(take offs C27 I think) and always had traction and plenty of steering.

Yes I agree with the Darkside. Use the kit supplied springs as mentioned! Definitely start with that set-up before trying anything else then you can go from there. You may well be surprised! Only thing I might try that is different from Darkside is leaving less clips on the backside of the front top arm to move castor back. My car has tons of traction so I increased castor to eliminate any on power push and help settle the car down the straights.
Also, since you are in Florida try giving Superior Hobbies a call about set-ups because those guys are hard core Corally drivers.

Darkside - thanks for the setup.I will probably run what is on the car now(orange front, white rear), although I have not checked to see what all the measurements are on it now.

Hey guys..
just reporting on the weekends Victorian State titles...after what started out a real promising event for me, turned into disaster on day 2..
In qualifying, I slotted in a 3rd fastest run of the meeting in my fourth run, which promoted me from 5th in Mod to 3rd, (behind 2 tc3's)
the mod B qualifyer was then run, and I was confident of keeping my 3rd place, during their last qualifyer, it started to rain lightly, and It was decided that our run would be dropped as we didnt run in the same conditions as the B class....
the next day was the worst conditions I have ever raced under, and would normally have been a wash out, but we persisted, and I found myself on a dry track to begin 2 of the 3 finals, only to have a down pour, and be stuck in the wet on dry slicks!!!..
the 3rd final the conditions improved, and I got a clean run running 3rd place for the entire run, only to dump on the last corner and be passed on the line by 1/10 by my team mate also driving a c4.1...
after the run I was found to be underweight by 7 grams????..which was confusing as I had been 20 grams over all weekend...
I later realised that the corally 12 single, and lighter inserts were to blame, and I lost the last final result, dropping me to a lowly and dissapointing 7th overall..
the car was absolutely dialled...and I now have managed 20 laps on 2 occasions...beating my previous p.b by over 6 seconds!!..
more to come from the car, the setup has great potential.
