ok...

how big do you think that spur gear is????

me thinks 110-115!!!

it has to be that big because of the 1:1 drive ratio with the single belt

still, if the spur is that big, pinions are gunna be like 19-20 for stock on 63mm wheels for a roll out of 33mm

if the above is correct a one tooth change to the pinion will make a huge differance to the roll out, maybe some 64 pitch gears are needed?

the spur gear does not have to be that big, thats just what has been put on the car.

i think it will to get any normal roll out

whats the smallest pinion u can get cause it will need some small ones even with that spur, like 21-15??

48dp pinions go down to 12 teeth. If I didn't have a Losi right now then the Assassin would be top of my shopping list

How awesome does the new Assassin look? Wow Hands up who is totally drooling for one and can't wait!!!!!

Well I said a while ago I would post some pics of C4.1 and a half that I used to win the Summer Nats last month in Sydney.

Here's a first pic showing the overall car especially the front top arm mod! I ran Tamiya shocks and springs. I ran Blue springs on the front too, so besides that and the rubber tyres shown in photo this is how I raced it.

I will post this and more on my site, link to come.....

Cookie: man, that front arm mod is sweet!

That pictures shows pretty clearly how small the Novak GT7...AINT!!! Everytime I see that thing I can't help but think Novak could have gotten it smaller.

Yeah the GT7 is not as small as a V12 or Quantum as examples but it is about 30% smaller that the previous TC2 and is so efficient!
It is quite light still and it fits without any probs and I had to add about 90 grams (~5oz I think!) of lead anyway, so it really doesn't matter I reckon.

Default Jack the Grippa

Jeff,

The Gripper is awesome and it is so nice not to go home without respiratory distress and stinkin like Paragon!!!

I used it on both my TC and 12th scale on a freezing cold carpet track and was able to lap 2 tenths off the fastest ever lap on this layout and identical to my personal best!!!

I also stopped to make changes to car sevral times and went back out a few minutes later and car stayed the same till the batteries dumped!!!

Please call me and lets get another case or two ordered for my track!! I think my racers are gonna love it!!!

Ray

Ray,

I knew that you would like it!!! It is a very consistant compound!!! And I agree it is nice not to smell of wintergreen at the end of the day. I made the mistake last year of leaving a paragon preped tire in my car and it took forever to get rid of the smell. I too have seen some quicker lap times also! I will give you a call in the next few days to work out more details. I am still catching up after the Snowbirds. BTW your track was like ICE compared to the Snowbird track. I did not know that was even possible. Everbody was looking for the stiffest springs that they could find. Evey car lifted in a few af the turns. It was a handfull!!!
