I raced the car in hot conditions for the first time in a while..we were all running sorex 36r with green inserts..

It seemed I was chasing more turn in all day, as my car wanted to understeer initially...when it cooled and I went back to take offs, the problem was solved, as the seem to bite in better, and slow the car to the correct entry speed much quicker...I found with the sorex I had to back off the throttle earlier, and wait for the car to bite into the turn..this was costing me heaps of time..and drivers behind were much quicker in entry speed..

I ran 30wt 4 hole, prototype tower on the front (same as rear geometry) 2nd outermost mount on tower, yellow spings (as the track needs a fast reacting car). 3 deg castor and 1 deg toe out.

rear I had 30 wt oil, 4 hole, white springs 2nd outermost hole on tower.
short rear hubs, camber link mounting position #4, 3 deg antisquat. and 1.5 deg toe-in.

solid upper deck and oneway front diff, and the earlier mentioned front tower were the only mods to the car..

any suggestions guys...I need the car to enter the corners harder from high speeds to tight radius corners...I need to be able to go faster into the corner, backing off the throttle as late as possible, and getting the car to tun in crisply, and hold good corner speed in the middle of the apex.

King-Reverse your springs- I'm sure you need more forward weight transfer when you let off the throttle. When you push down on your front shocktower (race ready weight) it should feel a little softer than when you push down on your rear shock tower. The softer front lets the car weight transfer move forward. If your using wider front shock towers it compounds the problem because the geometry it creates makes it work like you have even firmer springs up front.

yeah Mike I have always run softer on the front than rear..usually orange/white combo..

yeah your right about the weight transfer...the stiffer front allows it to transfer left/right quickly...but unfortunately doesnt allow the car to pitch forward..

I will try whites front and yellow rear, like Sakke's DHI setup

Hey MikeR: I see that you have the Williams team in your avatar. Well just to let you know I started up a friendly F1 thread in the chat Forum.

Anybody's welcome to stop by and talk some F1 if you wish.

Talking

G'Day guys

Thought I'd register and say hi. King G has been asking me to do for a while so the time has come!

I am from melbourne in Oz and usually race at TFTR.

I have a web site that I made for a bit of fun:
www.cookieitsallgood.com
(hopefully my signature link works too!)

Check it out if you want. The pictures of my Corally are in there showing all the stuff I have developed that King G has been telling you about like the shock tower and sway bars and battery tray etc.

Trips: Very funny! I don't know what your talking about anyway. You know EVERYTHING is a copy of the Yokomo!

Cookie: Its good to have you here.

Airwide: Corally has been very secretive with it, following the events with the XRay T1. They have decided to keep their ideas to themselves, to avoid having them show up on other cars a few months later. So considering these circumstances, I guess we can understand why they are being extra careful.

We may have to wait until the onroad worlds to get a look at the new car. Sad, but understandable.

Hey, I am new to this forum.

King-G, you may want to increase the rear droop setting on your car if you don't want to reserve the spring as other has suggested. More rear droop will give you more off power steering as it will allow more weight transfer to the front.

For anybody who hasn't been past CorallyUSA lately. They seem to have a new look going for the website.
