BrentL, with all the testing we have done, we are going on 17 runs with out cutting one of the test motors. The brushes are from another test motor that had 12 runs on them. We should expect to get 35+ runs on a pair of brushes. I will keep more up to date info on our testing and release date of our motor.

What gearing you you recommend for a Checkpoint 8x1 in a touring car with rubber tyres, racing on an asphalt track which could be considered fairly open.

I ran mine for the first time last weekend, and whilst it was very quick, the comm was was getting very discoloured. This was running 8.28:1 with rubber tyres. I geared down a pinion at one point but I think that made it worse.

Jaybee, we also have plans for a stock motor. We will keep everyone up to date when we get closer.

Bender, with the 8turn you should be geared around 7.9 to 8.2 depending on the track size. Anything under a 8.2 you will start losing a little bit of performance. Also keep in mind that the type of batteries you are using will make a difference.

I have been running the checkpoint motors for a few weeks now and they are awesome. I raced this weekend at the Nationals Warm Up race and I was running an 8x2, most of the factory drivers were using 7 turns and I had plenty of horsepower and runtime. Plus I ran 1 set of brushes all weekend (Actually the second weekend on the brushes) and only cut the comm once a day.
Keep up the great work and hope to see you guys at the race in Las Vegas.

hey Brent, you should of told me you were wanting to know about the checkpoint motors. I ran the mods alll this summer out on the asphalt and they were incredible. I had two and between the two of them I never had to change brushes the entire time we ran on asphalt. I can't wait to try out some of the 19 turns. I'm sure they'll be just as incredible.

Will Checkpoint have someone at the Vegas race to do motors or do I have to pack my lathe?

Hi Duane,

Just wondering when there will be more mod motors and infinity brushes in stock??? It seems that the LHS are out of stock, can you please advise?

Many thanks.
Leonard.

ottoman, I will be there in vegas.

We are weekly shipping stuff out to GP. I can try to help locate a shop that might have them besides Tower hobbies.

Leonard: what wind are you looking for? We have 8's and 12's in at the moment, plus brushes ... waiting on 7's and 9's ...

Thanks for the offer. I am chasing 7x1 and 9x1, along with the the 6 cell infinity brush (6 pairs). I live in Australia.

The two places that I know of that stock Checkpoint are Tower Hobbies (US) and Precision RC (HK). I have used Tower before and would prefer not to deal with them again (if possible), hence my search for another supplier of these motors.

Thanks for your help.

Leonard.
